Gutter camera

WCF

Help Support WCF:

oops....

i have found a lot of tennis halls can nicely block a downspout to....and of course this modern stupid fad of screwing together downspout parts..

thats a cracking pic smurfy....

That pic is also a bit deceiving as was a commercial job so the size of the gutter was not the normal 4 inch used for domestic so it was a big dead gull /emoticons/biggrin.png

No was just following the thread and was looking on ebay at the camara you mentioned and saw this. Thought it might help as you said you have broken a few save your camara sky diving.

Thanks Andy...I see the seller gotethers sells quite a few different ones that indeed might come in handy. Nice one

Whilst out doing a bit today I was asked for a quote over the phone. The lady said "don't come at 11am as another chap is coming over and we are going out at 1:30pm. Hmmmm I thought this is going to be a waste of time:rolleyes:

Anyhow I said "I should get to you about 1pm after i've finish a job as i'm only a few streets from you". Her reply was "That would be good she said as don't want you to bump into the other man"

Can you guess what happened when I arrived?/emoticons/biggrin.png

First of all I listened to what the chap had to say as we walked around the property thinking my god this is minging.

Then said to him "would you like a free rain gutter health check?" to his reply was "yes please" :D

Then proceeded afterwards to show him the vids as you do

A picture paints a thousand words

Anyhow it turns out the other guy that came out earlier to do a quote did not bother to give them a price as he took one look at the front & back and said "as the plastics are so dirty it would best to replace the whole lot". That was not what the chap was wanting to hear so sent him on his way.

I then went on to explain what was going to be involved as would also take a good part of the day to try and bring back the plastics to resemble them being white again. His reply was " I understand as they have never been cleaned so whatever you do it's going to look a bit cleaner that it does now"

Then we agreed on a price of £250 for the job also a date was booked in the diary there and then too.

So the motto of the story is chaps be professional and listen to what the potential customer is telling you if you want to pick up premium priced work :)

As you can see its not very big and has relatively easy access front and back for ladders for a change to be able to scrub the guttering, fascias and soffits by hand.

aye nowt like a good hand job.....ya can see the dirt on that one...:eek:yukky..

what you should do ....is get me to do it for £50 and then stick the rest under your mattress.. i bet your banging your head on the ceiling when you go to bed.../emoticons/biggrin.png

To be honest I would like to do a runner on that one as going to be a right pain in the **** but the boss (my wife) wont let me:rolleyes:

That pic was from google maps taken a few years back so you cant really see how badly discolourd the plastics are with years of baked on filth.

No wonder the other chap who went out to give them a quote just wanted to replace all the plastics:D

I tell you what doing that for £50 you would end up working for less than minimum wage as it would take so long to do properly

@cheapncheerful regarding the "free guttering health check" I'm going out soon to a park home site to wash down the exterior of some new homes so will also knock a few doors to see what resonance I get... thats if I get time;)

nor me as i've been off trying to sort out a replacement website.

I should have made a backup on my pc - Hindsight is a wonderful thing:D

i must look into this pro cam thing as it would have been great to show that dandelion sat in the downspout to the customer...

i could see it from the ground originally but a week later....it was all shrivelled up and i couldnt see it....poor thing ...just waiting for some rain to spring back to life.../emoticons/biggrin.png

I use it today in real time whilst mounted on my guttervac pole. That gopro was blooming brilliant as made the job some much easier seeing what I was doing on my iphone especially over that conservatory roof. Mind you I left the wireless activated on the camera for a while when it started ******* down, thunder and lightning. By the time I got back to finish off clearing the gutters I found the camera was dead. Good job I carry spare batteries for it as was back up and running within a couple of mins /emoticons/smile.png
