Gutter camera

WCF

I've found the gopro so easy to use and it also takes stunning quality vids & pics too not just for guttercam work. /emoticons/smile.png

I'm past my dangerous brian years but these vids give you an idea how really good they are.

Yeah Gopro is the way forward for recording, we use them on planes as well, but expensive.

A very good alternative, not "quite" as good as a Gopro, but a hell of a lot cheaper and "nearly" as good, we use them on planes a lot as they are much cheaper so if broken/lost not so much to lose.

Can get them for around £60, they are also much lighter and smaller than a Gopro.

Looks a good cheap camera but they don't seem to have wifi that's is needed to view in real time when clearing gutters with a guttervac.

No, you would either need a lightweight 5.8 (or 2.4 like wifi) VTX and RX on your monitor, or use a cable.

I'm just wondering - did some of you try usual USB camera for PC and extension USB cable? We used pole for inspection anyway,so cable is no prob

It's for £10 to £15 so anyone can afford it...

I never used one,so I don't know how is picture,but I'll give it a go and I'll see

worth a try matrix...keep us informed...being cheapncheerful it would suit me../emoticons/biggrin.png

great idea Diwrnach...always fancied an excuse to buy one.../emoticons/biggrin.png

It sure will work but downside it's a nightmare using a camera hard wired on a pole connected to a pc/laptop or even a dvr on your own. I know this as have tried different bits of kit over the years and they don't like getting wet either.

This one took me less than 10 mins to do a free guttering health check on all 4 sides of the property using a gopro with a bacpac to show the potential customer the vids there and then. :)

What do you think?

The main purpose of doing a guttercam survey is for my benefit really so to see how bad they are and how much gap is between the tiles etc without the need to use ladders so can price the job up accordingly.

I like to book all my domestic jobs in when customers are going to be home so can use their power instead of the extra cost and hassle of using a petrol generator . Not to mention for me the most important bit is to get paid there and then after the job is done. I also think ppl like to see what I'm doing too as are reassured I'm doing the job properly and as safely as I can be it by ladders or guttervac.

I've found price is irrelevant really on buying quality tools/kit that is going to make my job easier, quicker and/or safer to do.

Great pics, but £150 is too much. That's price for my RO /emoticons/sad.png

If they like the professional look and that kind of approach they are usually impressed and recommend you to friends I found../emoticons/smile.png

Agree, just need to make some money first. My job is handyman,so need much more tools than WC.I'll buy it later, because quality tool pay for itself everytime. And this kind of work is still growing and more regullar than handyman job so it has great potential,in my opinion.
