Ro system or di vessels????

Hi all

I have been using a 150 gpd 4 stage ro system for the last year and a half and have been lucky not to have a water meter up until I moved a few weeks ago . My water is 135 ppm and I only use a maximum of 1500 litres a month as it is mainly the tops I do with the pole.I have found this ro unit very slow 250 litres takes 25 hours to produce ! my water pressure on the gauge is 60 and filters have all been changed, I am aware this system wastes a lot of water. If I was to upgrade to a 350 gpd system would this increase the speed of water production? I take it the waste water level would still be around the same? I have been thinking about switching to di resin and using two 11 litre vessels ( one as a pre filter ) and just not bothering with the ro system.

What are peoples views on this? any help would be great.

Many thanks

I'm far from an expert, don't even have one set up yet, but from research adding a pump can make a drastic difference.

Like I say, no first hand knowledge just going by what I have found out.

Hopefully someone else will chime in /emoticons/smile.png

If your tds is that low already, and you're only using a little pure water, then ro may be easier for you.

There's a resin calculater that'll give you est monthly cost too. Not sure where it is though. Of course, if your demand for water grows......

I run at 300ppm and I had a small ro unit this week I setup a 4040 with 20' filters a di vessel and a booster pump cost me a bomb but wow pure water on tap! Couldn't be happier

You need a booster pump, and a 4040 R.O ! Your initial outlay will be absolute peanuts with the money saved on resin and time.
