So I had my tank strapped down in my van about 3 weeks ago , was driving down the road and I heard a snap , I pulled over and one of the straps has actually snapped !!!!! How dangerous is that!!! The welding must of been ridiculously **** !!!

Omnipole were the ones that fitted the straps!!!!!!!!!

Blimey....

This is why I do everything myself as far as I can, not that I don't trust others to do things right, but I don't trust other people to do things right /emoticons/tongue.png

I've just got in I will run down to the van and take a photo , I can't believe this happened !! I'm fuming

looks like the strap 2 me.what size tank is it.could u not have had a steel frame around the tank.

It's 500ltrs mate they only do straps he said that's what they use for these tanks. Do you think that this break is there fault or could this just happen?

that's a hell of a lot of weight,500 litres 2 be strapped down.had mine fitted 600 litres, got a steel frame.im no expert so I don't know.some one on here will surely inform u.all the best.

It goes from front to back and there's 2 of them either side of my tank , I had it in my vivaro for a year and I had no probs this was after say roughly 3 weeks [emoji47]

neil your very lucky I would seriously consider some sort of frame work 2 secure your tank.

What size straps are they? most are what two tonne? 500 litres is roughly 500kg? so on paper should be strong enough, but you need to take into account braking and accelerating etc

Takes the Mik as I was told was the straps will be enough to keep it from moving anywhere, now I've got to pay to have a frame made up after I payed £240 to have these 2 poxy straps put on
