Like Tescos, petrol etc? I don't get this cost of living down south is more.
Rent, house prices, beer, most stuff in the newsagents, buses , taxis, Insurance etc etc etc

And window cleaners..lol

I grew up on a london council estate and had **** all

But have seen how the other half live

If you can pay half a million for a 1 bed studio just because it is in kensington you can pay double for your windows for sure..lol

I lived in w10..by portabello road market in a tower block nobody would want to live in..2 minute walk on same road is kensington gardens with 20 million quid houses..big divide down there

[/media]This is where i lived on 28th floor

House prices in the centre of Cambridge are ridiculous. The wealthy are very tight with thier money so you don't get away with charging silly prices, but I only realised that the prices I charged were expensive when I read on here what was being charged op nourth.

@daveyboy1 whats the chimney looking thing on the left of the tower for?

That is where the lifts are..then you go through the corridors to the main block

That's why i work my nuts off so my family don't have to go through that
Thats all we can all do. I just want to get into the position one day to be able to hand something down to my kids as I couldn't imagine what house prices are going to be like in 30 years time.

I am both lucky and unlucky

Dad passed away 15 years ago as of the 28th October

His house was left to me with the mortgage paid by his insurance

Only have a 25 k mortgage now and 10 and a bit years left to pay it

Would still rather be homeless and have him back but that is the hand i was dealt

Means we will be living comfortable soon and buy a smaller place to retire and have a decent pot for pension

just reading this daveyboy I used to live just off Portobello road I think it was clarendon road I lived with my auntie for a while and stood the market with my uncle I was only 16 at the time there was a pub called the elgin I think it was at the notting hill end loved the hustle and bustle on market days I think they moved to hammersmith and earls court road good old days for me lol

is this where you work mate

No i moved away to leafy Hertfordshire. .lol

Didn't want my son growing up there

I used to help.my dad with his milk round round portabello market and round kensington garden area

I miss the place but no place for a kid to grow up nowadays

Used to fish on the grand union canal on my own as a kid and now people get murdered and found in the canal now like the girl on the news recently

Not the same anymore

sounds like you did the right thing moving away wouldn't want my kids growing up there either sounds a bit dodgey mate

but good memories all the same lol

All my mates are still there but when i go to visit i always think how did i ever live here..

Daveyboy, by ladbroke grove? I used to knock about with some Portuguese there. Portobello market was great!

I dress smart, speak eloquentley, and target barn conversions. It's working well. The windies from the towns don't want the work. Which is odd because these people have MONEY.

Ladbroke grove runs almost parralel to goldbourne road which is where i lived

You can see my old flats from the a40 westway

Near the big gas cylinders and the iron bridge

daveyboy my auntie had a café on goldbourne road in the 70s I can remember visiting her there and it was close to the gas cylinder thing and I recall theyd just built a skateboard park there can remember going there a few times
