Knowledge is power as they say, so its a good one to keep an eye on. And if any customers or potential customers down a street get stung with it at least the penny will drop a little quicker so I can catch the fecker and ram a modified squeegee up his poopshoot.

I've not had this done to me but I have had a customer say that someone has already been round to collect the money.

As I told her, it's not my problem, if you're stupid enough to pay someone you don't know that's your problem. If she doesn't pay me what she owes she won't be getting her windows cleaned again.

Yeah, once. I turned up at a bungalow I do to be told that someone had been round the previous week, said I wasn't coming this week, so did the windows (!!) and took the money. never went back.

I had a serious row with a man who was a customer, but also held sway on some businesses that I cleaned. The thing was, he didn't send his cheque as he said he would, and then got the ****hole because I called one night for it. Now, you won't believe what he did. I turned up to do the office windows some three weeks later, and while I was doing the first one, he rolled up in his big 4 x 4, and in a nice polite way said "don't do this one, I've got someone else to do it, and (that) other one". He had actually, as I found out later, told the businesses that I had finished, and got someone in to take over. I can't remember now what I called him. And this is after working, and doing extra houses when he asked etc. for over twenty years. I blame the businesses for this, because I had been doing their windows for some ten years, giving receipts every month, and yet they just accepted what he said, without even bothering to phone up and ask.
