Tendering ?

WCF

Help Support WCF:

My understanding is to tender is just another name for quoting for a job. All they do is pick the firm they want to do the work for that meets their criteria at a fixed price for the term of the contract.

Good tips smurf.

Essentially with tendering, the company has a set of requirements for the job, a number of companies will complete the form and say what they can do and for how much, and depending on the size, you'll have to show a track record of having done similar work for others before. the best deal/company will win it.

Companies only seem to tender for big contracts where they want to get the best value. You'll get the feeling of weather you should bid for it or not based on the price. If its a £250,000 p/y contract, a one man band won't be enough etc.

I was not going to say it but now you have mentioned it on large contracts a one man band doesn't have a chance in hell /emoticons/biggrin.png

Speaking of which I've just had a firm chasing me up for a job that I don't really want to do. So have given them a silly high quote as you do. Knowing my luck I will bloody get it now

Ya can't really lose smurf, even the worst jobs have a price, an if ya get it, it's suddenly a good job haha

It's too much hassle I've looked in to it and the **** you need to tender for it is ridiculous !!! Think I will stick to what I do best lol

Its worth it from the contract aspect. Guaranteed work for 2 years etc. and can be good money if you work fast, efficiently and the standard doesnt need to be as high as domestic. As long as the reception glass, the boss office windows are super clean, the rest will do with a bit of splash n dash.

The amount of documents you need is crazy !!! Plus I'm a one man band with the window cleaning so I probably wouldn't stand a chance lol
