Hi,

I am looking at and interested in this system, basically for upper windows and conservatories, as the kit i have for conservatories is not great a car brush system, thats cheap. I am a newbie so looking for somthign that is easy to use and not to expensive. Also somthing that filters etc all in one like this system, I have spoke to someone whom uses one and he says it does him fine and no complaints at all and its really good, its not the best but leaves windows looking fine.

http://www.carpet-cleaning-equipment.co.uk/streamline-stream-box-streambox-trolley-window-cleaning-system-complete-with-waterfed-pole-including-angled-adaptor-hedgehog-brush-p-1304.html

This is why I am posting here, as I really want to get some info form you guys whom no what your talkign about.

I am after a system like this, a one sto shop thing, that does all the filtering etc, so i can just put hose on and go, filling with tap water etc.

Also are there any places where I can locate one 2nd hand?

What are your recommendations please for some on starting out whom wants it all in one like this system and ready to go. IN the future I can learn and build a better kits etc..

Price is key, so looking for a good deal on somthign thats good to use.

Thank you to anyone whom replies.

 £954 (even with the discount ) for something which is no better than a DIY Trolley system.....even the pole looks :turd:.

There is a thread on here on how to make your own system on a trolley......

scottie you would be better buying a backpack from gardiners pole systems,a cheap foldable trolley.you could get these 4 £100.also a di vessel and resin so u can produce your own water, depending if u live in a hard or soft water area.again not much over 150,some barrels and a decent pole and brush.there was a link 2 a harris pole conversion kit not long ago.that brush looks horrid.

Cheers guys, looks like I will scrap that one and seems I can do it miles cheaper to.

In short I want somthign to to top windows only and I will trad bottoms unless leaded.

Ok, is there a all in one system for sale or 2nd hand or a place online where you cna buy a all in one system that filters the water etc like the ashby does, just really want somthign that does that and save me doing all the work in getting pure water for now.

OR what would you recommend me buy either new or 2nd hand that is good for the wfp job and a complete set up to buy. I am new to it all so want a full set up eithe rnew or 2nd hand really so i can just get on with it and either have pure made like the ashby way if there are others out there or a trolley and wher ei have to make the pure but i have it all brought ready to make, hope i make sense.

I am not the best at MR DIY stuff, just dont graspe it liek some of you folk, so go easy lol.

Really appriciate your time to reply.

Keep reading that DIY trolley thread.....you'll get the jist of it...then read it again.....you can do it...you know you can really.....believe in yourself and you can do anything .

there are but your talking stupid money.try window cleaning warehouse or gardiners.

Scottie....you did say 'Price is Key'....so do the above if you don't fancy making DIY Trolley.

Also...some customers can be a bit funny if asking to use their water for you to purify on site to clean their windows.

Thank you everyone.

So first its best to buy a tds metre and check my tap water then come back here and let you guys no. I need to find out if we are hard water or soft water, I have a feelign we are hard water here.

I will look into the gardiner systems, anyone have an links to a system thats quite good and cheapish, maybe i will look online see if any 2nd hands one are about. I need to work out what i need as I will have to make the pure myself then. Its a lot o work comapred to trad lol.

Thanks again for the info, i see that ashby brush is different to th gardiner, the gardiner looks better too.

Hi,

Is this any good? I will be only using it to clean top windows on houses, rest will be trad. I just want a small set up that is going to do a good job on just top windows. What else do i need to get with this system to make it work, a pole, a pure water making system?

Cheers for the info. Looking at this its £85 and a pole I think I could get for say £100 and then the pure water set up to make it, I need to look online and find a package all in one pure water system maker being sold, 2nd hand one will be good for me, I will check the site people selling on there.

you mention buying 2nd hand again, like smurf said buy a tds metre 1st.then buy your equipment from a reputable company with a good back up service.

Scottie, there are 3 parts to what you need.

1. Pure water

2. A delivery system (back pack, trolley etc)

3. A pole and brush

It is better to think of your requirements broken down like this instead of trying to find one package with everything.

As Smurf says, first you need to find out what TDS your tap water is, this will tell you how you need to process the water to make it pure.

Low TDS - you only need a deionisation vessel (DI Tank) and resin.

High TDS - You need a reverse osmosis unit and di tank.

Very sensible

The last time I bought anything from ashbys was some carpet cleaning bit over 30 years ago and that was a rip off then /emoticons/biggrin.png

Yep, going to get one off the net that was put on the post above. Going to take it step by step. Geat way to look at it breaking it down.

Saying I need the equipment based on high tds readings, what bal park figure am I looking at for a half decent set up, either new or if I could attain it 2nd had. I sure will be coming on here to get recommeded what brush etc would be good as the ashby vid looks good to the untrained eye (me) but well you guys dont rate it so thats that:) Thank you everyone for your input, much appriciated.

What made me laugh was a replie I got on ebay a while back to buy a car brush extended to 3m he said its great for conservatories and windows as you can dip it in solution then from your tap just rinse the windows......from tap water..........wow, hard selling. made me laugh.

Scottie, from your other posts, i suggest that you forget all about trolleys just now, and concentrate on getting a few customers and learn trad first.

This stuff will cost you time and money.

Good to keep it in mind though for the future.

Hi, yeah, I might have to. I thougth I could just buy a complete set up trolley but proving harder to find than i thought, then I could just learn how to produce the pure water, the rest is easy as its will be good to go. If I could find a complete set up 2nd hand on making pure, then I would jst have to be shown how to do it and what to get, job done. I will keep looking for a cheapish complete package, must be somthing out there. Trad is much more simple and effective yes. But some windows are hard to get to and leaded, so pure trolley would be so handy. I reckon I could pick up a 2nd complete system from start of making pure to the brush for £350?

I just noticed this online, it says just add tap water and away you go and clean. I thought you put in pure water or can you add tap water and it cleans it super fat? What other gear would I need to make this oporate as a wfp cleaner.

Technically, everything is there to get you started - if you have a low enough TDS. Though it would be very unfair if me not to say that you will still need containers - 25L drums or even better for that backpack 19L water bottles to store pure water in.

Re Tap Water: You process the tap water through the DI tank to make it pure, assuming that your TDS is low enough.
