People laugh at how i amWhen i worked on the Olympics job i dealt with the top locog dudes

Seb coe came in to warehouse 1 day and i was in the office

Greeted him with a "alright fella. .want a cuppa"

Got on fine with him and my boss was "bloody hell dave"

My attitude is they are all only people like us

People seem to like it though

Hi Diwrnach, That is some good methods there, I am interested to see how this goes, I hope it works for you, you never no, people might see it as different and go for it. I am going to change my flyers nex time a little do some less pro and some pro so i have a mix. I think the expensive 4-5 and 6 bedroom houses I will pro flyer them, just feel over all they prefer that imo.

Good luck mate, i be thinking of you as I flyering too, missions, but enjoy it, I am aching for today, my ankel is killing me for some reason.

iv been awake all nite,fretting , a storms raging on the seafront here. id planned to do an erly morning gutter clean,workers were primed , but iv had to call it off

I'll let you know how it goes, won't know until late next week really, but fingers crossed, in my head it seems like a great idea, but what happens in my head and in real life are often very different things lol

I find the most effective way to get new business is to leaflet an area with your address and landline on flyer ,then follow up with knocking with a very laid back,non-threatening manner.At the end of the day another customer will not make one jot of difference to my existence or yours .I have had a couple of people tell me the reason they did business was because of my home address on flyer-so they can collar me if a ladder goes through their motor which is fair enough.The thing with leafleting is to pay someone else who does it for a living to do it.I pay between £20-£30 per thousand usually minimum 2k.The good thing about it is when you have just paid to have them delivered it kicks you up the backside to go knocking whilst they're still"hot".I wouldn't do what one cleaner near here did and put the advert on a luminous postcard asking them to leave postcard in front window if they were interested mmmmmm........

It seems like a good idea to me.

Most custys don't like to phone up, but they may not mind putting the card in the window, to say ' yes please clean my windows'.

Good ideas Diwrnach, I hope it goes well today for you. I am out in a bit flyering to for a few hours, done hours a day so far this week, I am knckered, its getting me fitter must be? lol.

Thats the worst thing about this job. The better the job you do, the less often they feel they need you. I'm just starting to say, "I only do monthly".

That was my first thoughts too. Especially after that scam that daveyboy posted about a week back.

so the customer will put the flyer in the window, another window cleaner will come along, spot it, read it, do the house, collect and the customer will take the flyer off the window, and you will not have been back at anytime whilst all this is going on?

Pish tosh! less excuse, more flyers

I put out 100 flyers on Saturday, got 5 customers off it, I went round first thing Monday morning, like the flyer says I will.

You would have to be bloody fast and psychic to rush around the exact houses I flyered on Saturday on a Monday morning, check them all, clean them all and collect on them all before I checked them at around 9am.

Or alternatively you could spend every Monday morning driving around your area madly searching for leaflets in peoples windows that they have put out for another window cleaner?

Not sure I will be trying that sounds like a waste of time and petrol to me lol.
