Have just finished my DIY backpack.

Have followed jimmy boots diagram on how to wire it up & it all works perfect. On & off switch works & flow control works.

1 problem I have is on my flow controler is a red led light. This is staying on all the time weather I turn the flow up or down. Is this normal & will it deaden the battery.

Any ideas?

Yes, of course it will.

You should wire in an on/off switch straight after the battery, before the flow controller or anything else.

Does the red light not come on when the flow has been stopped while pump is still running. May be a blockage somewhere.

On jimmy boots drawing I've done exactly the same. His flow control is after his battery then to his on/off switch so its not that.

Yes it stays on even when flow controler is turned off. Somewhere I must have a wire crossed but I've double checked it & it is the same as jimmy boots

Power switch should be straight after battery then go to pulse modulator.

Otherwise pulse modulator will constantly have power, hence the red light./emoticons/wink.png

Exactly what I thought. Then again who turns there flow off. I keep mine at the same flow so never touch it.

Maybe need to pull it out again & check it. In jimmy boots drawing his to wires +&- go straight from the battery to the flow controller. 2 more wires +&- then go to the - terminal of the pump. The + goes to the on/off switch. Another wire + then goes from the on/off switch to the battery terminal. All works great apart from this bloody red light.

IMHO you want to cut the power to everything when you flip the switch which is why I'd put it straight after the battery.

It would work fine because the switch is still cutting power to the pump, just not the flow controller, hence the light.

Hope that makes sense!

Lol.. The flow controller in the diagram never had an led on it. It just controlled the power to the pump. But if your flow controller has an led it just means that power is still getting to that LED. It would take a looooooong time to drain the battery, but yes just put the on/off before the flow control to cut power to the LED.

The ones I have bought have no LEDs. Yours must be Posh....Posh /emoticons/smile.png

Thanks to all.

All sorted now. Just moved 2 wires & hey presto.

Checked it & had it running & works fine.

Like it jimmy boots. Posh controller lol
