Alright lads. I'm looking for some ideas on my belt set up. I've got some new gear arriving tomorrow, double squeegee holster, and a new bottle pouch, so I'm going to have to strip mine down and maybe find a new way of doing things. A pic says a thousand words so just thought I might gleam a good idea or two off you guys. If it arrives tomorrow I'll just edit this post to show my new rig.

Tuffers, theres some men comparing the length of their poles in the WFP section, go put that pretty lipstick to good use./emoticons/biggrin.png

I found this online, seems like a nice guy with a story very similar to a lot of ours on here. Check his blog out here: http://windowcleanersecrets.com/2014/04/28/four-stages-mastering-skill/

Heres his belt setup:

dont have a sill cloth just use scrim cloth for everything
I'm always amazed by just how different peoples work practices can be. What about first cleans where the frames and sills are minging? How many scrims do (just) you go through a day?

About 12 - 14 a day because I detail the all the frame, some times more if it is raining.

Bag load of scrims/cloths a day, radiators are covered every night, wife hates it, maybe I will reduce in time, I detail all sides and frames and sills are scrubbed.

Even on my busiest days I use 1-2 scrims a day, maybe 3 in the winter. And about 1-3 small microfiber sill cloths. I use the sill cloths to do all the frames and sills, and keep the scrims as clean and dry as possible just for use on the glass. To keep the sill cloths a bit cleaner I use a dry paint brush to dust away cobwebs and other ****. Every so often I'll clean and wring out the sill cloths using an outside tap.

a crew of 4 im washing 20-40 scrims every night-sounds mad eh?

it is!

[ benefit of using scrim only= at the window no time lost changing cloths,no pouches needed . downside= a lot of washing each evening]

Your missus must love you to put up with that lot each day /emoticons/biggrin.png

How do you dry them when you can't put them outside?

How can people still be using scrim in 2014

I use 1-2 of my 2ft square microfibre a day..usually 1 unless it is raining bad

And 1 sill cloth

I wash my cloths once a week usually

Microfibre used on glass is clean just wet when i change it so they get dried on my dashboard or over headrest and used again tomorrow unless actually dirty

I don't miss the scrim days

thats ridiculous. 2 scrims and a microfiber a day for me... IF i was still doing trad :laugh::laugh:

Do u still, want to see belt set ups? I can take a picture later if so

I use scrim and microfiber, i startout using a scrim detailing glass where needed, frames and sills, all the same scrim until its too damp or dirty to detail the glass, this first scrim then becomes a sill cloth and i detail the glass with a microfiber from that point. I can get through 8 mixed cloths in a day if i was to do 8-9 solid hours

Yes please mate. This could be a great little resource for the new starter, especially as it shows all the different approaches people use. So far no ones setup or methods are the same, which is really interesting to me. I want to see how you arrange that sorbo double holster. They tried delivering mine and a load of other gear in the 10 minutes my mrs stepped out of the house.

Nice setup tench. What have you got against Boabs? o_O:D
