New to wfp, what equipment to get??

Hi everyone my name is Luke. As you can see I'm new to WFP system as I am currently using traditional methods. I've been a bit skeptical about switching to WFP as I heard off people having bad cleans? I'm looking to start using WFP system and start off with a basic trolley set up so that I can get used to it and go from there. I was wondering if anyone can recommend what to get and also what size di vessel. I've been helping a friend for a while with his traditional round as well and so I would like to build my round up and incorporate this system . Any help would be great fully received about equipment and also how to set up?

Hi & welcome:thumbsup:

@jimmyboots posted an interesting thread called something like "diy alternative to backpack" that maybe of interest to you

Thank you that's a brilliant post and I will investigate further. What would you advise in the way of a di vessel ,I wouldn't be using loads of water. Also what pole/brush would you reccomed. Thank you /emoticons/smile.png

Do you know the TDS of your tap water? that is the first thing, your gear will change depending on it.

No I don't know the tds yet I'm in Shropshire does anyone know or I will buy a meter. Also is the resin I buy dependant on my reading? Thank you for your reply

TD can vary wildly from area to area, and if it is high you would probably need an RO as well as a DI vessel with resin.

Ok it's best if I get a meter then and do the test. What else do I need to consider when starting off with this method. I have watched youtube methods on various techniques and also I was going to practice on my own house and family before I go off to do customers. What reviews do you get about the WFP method?

he he he.....i dont get any reviews as ....i only do it when they are out.....i a ...sneaky wfp er...

i do get caught sometimes...but i just tell....like we all do....insurance wont let us up ladders anymore...

That's what I don't want to happen is me run into any problems being new to it ,I want to be confident doing it so that the customer is happy with the clean. I like doing traditional but would love to get into the WFP system so that's why I'm looking into it now

Best start small to start if I were u. Get a cheap backpack on eBay and whack it on a trolley.

diy a Harris pole then start doing a few jobs to get a feel of it.

Once you feel ready and confidence to start doing more work with wfp then upgrade.

When I started wfp many years ago I made a few mistakes and felt i wasted my money.

Since I changed to WFP not had a single one complain about the quality of work, and to my eye they are juc cleaner than trad after a couple of cleans.

A few new and old customers have asked about the way I am doing it, most are quite happy and more interested than anything, no idea why @cheapncheerful feels the need to do it on the sly? lol

Ye I definitely want to get a bit of practice in so that I can can to a high standard. I have never had any call backs from my traditional round. How do you use the di vessel?how do you go about pricing jobs for the wfp system?

The DI vessel either polishes the water after an RO unit if the tap water TD is high, or you can get pure just off the vessel if the tap water TD is fairly low to start with.

Price is exactly the same, why would it be different?

Ah right so I can just use the vessel to purify my water ready in containers to use. Well heard mixed views about prices some cheap and some charge a load so just wanted to find out before I start . Hoping I can drum up some more customer by introducing the wfp.

If your TDS is low from the tap then yeah you can just use a DI vessel, I have to use RO, then a vessel and still can't get 0 yet lol.

Its still just window cleaning, I find no one really gives a **** how you actually do it as long as their windows are clean.

To be fair some of my traditional clean customers have had pole system and they don't like it they say because of streaks and marks, surely this is down to poor management of the purifying ?where's the best place to get a tds meter ?

Can get them off ebay.

I have just got two customers in a street who had a trad guy and had green upvc frames and massive dirty borders all the way round the glass where he must have used a rag covered in **** to try and detail.

Its not the method, its the person who uses it, WFP isn't magic, you still need to clean with it correctly, but I think 99% of problems come from either poor water or more often not rinsing properly, I watched a guy do a house down the road while I was picking my kids up from school, he didn't rinse at all, so it didn't matter how pure his water all he is doing is moving the dirt around.

Ok I get you,it's all about how we get I've your caning method is.thays why I want to learn the correct method. What else do you recommend I do before starting wfp ?thank you for your help and replies I appreciate your help
