i always admire anybody who prices low , because to then make it work requires a lot of graft

by contrast i know several windies personally who pride them selves on pricing high ,about £20 minimum. their flash vans sit idle much of the time, just darting out for the big job then vans back home idle. these lazy people usually have a wealthy wife/ mummy & daddy bankrolling it all, iv little respect for them

What's wrong with that as there is more to life than working your **** off I say

one windie guy iv got to know fairly well, has a new Dispach with the best signwriting iv seen [big chrome lettering] has been a windie for 15 yrs and i do bleve hes been in business that long . in the 6 yrs iv been a windie iv been behind his van a few times ,and chatted to him on the street - but can you bleve it , nobody but nobody [and iv a few local windies on alert to text if they ever do ] has ever seen him cleaning windows

A wise old man taught me to work smarter not harder so I guess the same old man had a word in his ear too./emoticons/biggrin.png

i think its possible hes filling his van with water and then riding the roads a few hours and them home , possibly tippin the water away .

almost caught him out a year ago, was by my van in a local street and he pulls in and stops. "dyou work round here?" i ask

no, it was raining where i was working, bloomin nuisance but what can you do,so i quit , im visiting my ol mum who lives down here

i even extended my round into a town where he said he mostly works, in the hope of seeing him

guess what

hes not there !

£6 my lowest price if all my work was £10 I would be wealthy man, my best graft was given to me five years ago , he told me never underprice your graft

I thought Smurf had a Blue Renault van, not a dispach. /emoticons/biggrin.png

Like Richard said that is down to you how you manage your business. Myself I prefer to work the least hours possible for the maximum reward then it’s nap time /emoticons/biggrin.png

Near perfect comment smurf; although, instead of ‘least hours’ choose your hours, and if you want ‘nap time’ that’s fine, or you could choose do anything else with your time.
