Just replaced my 400ltr flat tank with a 500ltr flat. I say flat, the 500 flat is more cube shaped than flat. Anyhow, I've fitted it with the central baffle running lengthways to the van whereas the 400 one the two baffles ran transverse to the length of the van. It's like being in a boat!! Ok when the tank if full but once the level drops a bit the water must be waving like billy'o front to back. I can feel a forward & back sensation when I'm cruising along!!/emoticons/biggrin.png It's no biggie to turn it round but it's ideal as it is.

How does everyone elses baffles run with what tank??

It's a standard Wydale tank- the ones all wfp suppliers sell. They have either one or two built in baffles, like a long hole moulded into the tank.
All the tanks I've owned have lots of pipes standing upright as baffles !!! I must be old skool

Had a ionics 1000 ltr also had a 400 ltr upright baffled the same way but can't remember the make

I have heard of the baffles you describe. Wonder if I could fit something like this into the tank as like I say, for a few reasons it's pretty perfect the way it's in now. Anyone done this before??

The baffles I've had are nothing special and I reckon if you buy a plastic down pipe and put that to small lengths it should do fine , may cost more than the tanks worth though lol

I have a 500L flat tank. Now you mention it, my baffles run front to back in line with the van. You do get a rocking sensation when you pull up at a junction. I find it soothing /emoticons/biggrin.png

What do you do then?

Put some lengths of 4" pipe together in through the top or something?

Is it a Wydale tank Tufts & is there one central baffle?
Gawd knows what make it is, I got it as a second off eBay (paid just over a ton for it, it only had a few scratches on it) it's got 2 hollows in the middle. The hollows come in handy to store bits and bobs.

I have a look through my purchase history and try and find out what make it is.
