I've been escorted out a few times in the past

Stopped a guy who was getting out of hand once and got removed for my trouble

Should have just let him carry on being a ****

Oh I know look smart when door knocking and make sure you wear shiny shoes or you wont get in

Wow, what a thread.

Well, flyers just do not seem to do a dam thing, really nice flyer, all the info you need and smart and professional, nothing to pull apart on it, yet not a thing, very minimal response, are the areas tied up. I just will get rid of my 700 left and then door knock, I will still flyer but areas I target and just mass drop in hope and just step up the door knocking as I can do that myself.

Its real tuff for newbies, I speak to some off here on PMs and they are finding it very hard work. I see on facebook lots peeps just putting a few lins up like"window cleaner available now, get ya windows gleaming call me now ......." Seems like lots of temporary people and then I look at there FB and they stopped it.

Anyone have tactics they have picked up, I am going to posh and council houses an dirty roads in regards to windows, there in need of a clean and no response still, I can not beleive people live with such messey windows.

I think door knocking might be the way to go and am stepping that up as of thursday all day and every day now.....once flyers are gone hopefully by thursday afternoon.

SO SO SO low somtimes, seeing all the windys out there and then I get determind but that horrid feeling of will this work....I personally want this as a lif job and progress and learn from folk here and push on in time, but might have to look in towns 7 miles away and beyond, ok if you can get a round there its worth it but building it is hard.

Facebook is great and really good prices, I got £12 for a three bedroom and all others are £10, I dont think I cna justify more than £10 for a 3 bed house. So FB leads the way, people are right, it comes in spells. its really odd. So thank to those that pushed me the FB thing. Great!

Facebook is without a doubt my highest new customer stream.

My very first regular clean was 15 miles away, I was doing it for nothing once a month for maybe two months? I now have two full days over there.

I haven't been at this very long myself, there is no "will it work" because, it WILL work, you just have to keep at it, nothing in life is easy, just keep plugging away and you'll get there.

Thanks, Yeah I took a booking 20 miles away, yes, I desperate to build and I thought sod it, I will try to build in that area as its remote and seems like it could have soem space as in previous months people had asked on the FB groups. So I took it and said I can not do it till 2 weeks and have pushed hard on the groups and one group has seemed to take me off and not let on as I plugging, odd as others do, but hey ho. I have managed to get 4 bookings there now and I am pushing there and the clients I got are spreading the word and they might get some never no. Plus when I am there I am going to door knock the whole area two hours or so of door knocking and try get them in that day or for next time I am up there. It worked out, it will cost me prob 8 quid in my car to get there and back but I will make £14, £10, £10 and £10 £44 total - not bad for a start in that area, so if i can get 3 or four more worth going to, the first cleans I charging them much more:) all good, works out £52, was a risk but working, got six weeks to get another 4 there say and make it worthwile, then do few near too and round the day off. FB reall works

On FB, when you get friends whom windows you are doing and you make a post, does that post hit their friends lists or will it be just the friend you have? Wondering ways to maximize people seeing things and making posts on main page how do you get more people to view it, I put a flyer pic up and some words, it reaches like only 40 people, are they all randoms?

Cheers

I agree Diwrnach

No such word as maybe or might in my vocabulary

Just get out and make it work

Yeah AGREE - been out all day to day flyering, and then tommorrow all day need to shift 600 flyers left, 10- 3 tomorrow flyering, legs are fooked lol then fridya have conny clean and some flyers if not finished.

Then start Monday the DAVEYBOY1 stylee and door knocking every day all day 10-3 and then after if I can take it. Should get a hundred knocked a day, I should get somthing out of that..... Some people say they dont liek door knocking but I am going to be doing a whole week of it full day, maybe a intersting story to put on here to see how it goes, what you think. 10-3 each day of the week.

Cheers Daveyboy1 - I hope it pays off, I dont like the door knocking but gotta fast track custys and if it does then I be mad not too. Flyers are not working, I think I will tone the pro in them and try them bit more basic.

Yeah I think maybe 130 a day door knocking I should get a few out of that you would think....

travelling 20 mile radius is well worth it. think about it, a day of work in each town is quite easy to acheive . i work in 4 towns ,2 big and 2 small and im glad i do . the variety of scenery is interesting.

Getting a full weeks work in just the 1 town is much harder to acheive , why would anyone want to be stuck working in 1 town is beyond me

on the subject of thinking that an area is locked down/sewn up with windies ,thats never the truth.

cos windies come and go like the wind. in 1 town i work i picked up just 1 solitary 6 pound job there in my first year. But after a really dig-deep effort of doorknocking+fliers i then got an extra 100,then 200 in the same area

do that doorknocking scottie

Yeah I am covering now 5 towns, I will take any bookings there are and then start to build around it. I been out today flyering and hard as so many houses have massive pitched roofs and I can not do them on laddders, not climbing

up pitched roofs above porches, so really limite din some areas the houses I can flyer etc. Really annoying. Raining now so no chance going out. I am out tomorrow tryign to get the last of the flyers out, flyers are not doing well, so the door knockign starts up tomorrow and as I said I will get more flyers done but in a more basic way and I will be door knocking all day every day from now, it has to be done I could do 200 a day I must get a couple customers from 200 houses? I ******* hope so, that would be a downer if not.

Apart form flyers, door knocking and FB not much else that will impact in a big way ?

What you just described is exactly what happened to me, while out delivering flyers I would look at houses and think I would be unable to clean that window very well, or at all, which is why I was determined to go water fed pole, I didn't like saying to customers that one of their windows wouldn't be cleaned very well or I couldn't do it.

Now I am water fed pole and only once had to say I might not be able to do that window, which was, hard to explain, but behind a conservatory, but much below the apex of the roof, with the conservatory going along the wall for quite a distance, the only way to clean it would be off a conservatory ladder really, and even then would be incredibly difficult.

Do a good job and ask them to help you build your round in the street you are working in maybe?

i cant agree with staying at home when its raining- more so when doorknocking/flyers .

we worked today in it today, on the ladders - if you stay home when its raining your income /expansion will be cut . this time of year especially , its a time to get out by 9 sharp ,no delay watching dickinsons real deal or other crip.

Yeah, I just dont think its the greatest delivering flyers door knocking in ******* rain and turning up wet and then offering window cleaning. I would be out all day and night if people were reseptive. I dont no maybe I am wrong here. Its like thick fog and rain drizzle at present. Just dont want to waste houses knocking when their mind set might be "naaaa"

I think I will have to look at water fed pole, as one massive estate is all pitched roofs and garages and no way got any ladder access not even close and a pole trad all day there would be impossible as angles and weight, its so anoying, I just can not think round it. Gives me the hump as round here its very popular in buildings, so so many like it, making it real hard, I did not really think it effected things that much until now. Will have to dig in deep walk streets and only flyer a few houses but all I can do and just invest in a WFP for deffo now, missing to many houses, far to many, out of around 400 houses only 50 or so I can do on ladders, they are all pitches roofs and garages, out of 5 windows on fornt only like 3 are possible to do. I cna see why you went for the wfp rout Diwrnach.

theres not a house that cannot be done trad, dont miss ANY out Scottie, doorknock the lot. difficult to reach windows can be done with a trad pole , or by leaning out from inside.
