So what are your top five ways to get customer in?

I'm gonna try door knocking. Not looking forward to it as I'm quite shy but, I've got a mortgage to pay. I posted 350 flyers in a day a few weeks back and haven't had a single reply and some of those windows were hangin' so gotta step it up.

no hose , a c/f carp pole +wagtail pole tip on top

in the backgrounds my hoard of broken worn out trad poles , kept for no good reason !

always keep a stash of fliers on the dashboard of your car /van. so theres no excuse for not getting on doling them out .

writing this so will remind me to do it. do as i say but not as i do - iv never had a stash of fliers ready like that

HI mate, I no your feeling, I have done 1400 odd and got 2x custys and 2 conny cleans only, ok paid for the fliers, but pis£ed off not got more, I am gtting another 600 out or so in next few days and then its all door knocking 10-3 each day every day. Not wastign anymore time flyering, I will get some done in a more simple flyer and see if that works...but not many.

FB has been good to me, lot of work updating posts etc all time but 70% of work come form it....GOOD LUCK mate.

My "tick" flyers work really well, seem to get so far an average of 2-4 customers per 100 ish.

Though I have only put about 300 out, so hard to know if its just luck or not?

Also it is quite exciting having a walk about and seeing a tick in a window (yes, yes I am quite sad lol)

Yeah I do have that problem smurf, twice now I have seen window cleaners legging it about the streets in the vain hope of seeing a tick in someone's window.

The window for someone to do that is so minutely small I can't see it ever being an issue, I ask for them to be put out on a Monday morning, I walk round where I put flyers at 9 in the morning, marking them down and putting letters through the door explaining how to pay, what services we have etc, then go back and clean them.

If another window cleaner manages to some how spot them, approach them and clean them all before 9 then he is welcome to them to be honest.

I've got an idea. Drive round and jot down the for sale and sold boards. Tap the sold boards up and keep an eye on the for sale boards. When a sold sign goes up, POUNCE!

Yeah I do target solds all the time, a good % of new customers are new houses.

Well I have just done some paid advertising on facebook, to send people to my website, gone for the cheapest option of £3 a day for 7 das.

Yeah, there's an estate of 35 houses going up down the road. I've got the first 4 in the road, but there seems to be another windy on the prowl and has snapped up the other occupied houses. Some of the houses don't look like they've been cleaned at all and don't seem bothered if they do get cleaned. Luck of the draw I suppose.

If anyone tries it again just say to them...."oh I am sorry, ...I only got into this because my psychiatrist thought it would be good for me,....you see work is a good way to help with the rehabilitation, ...and as nobody wants to employ you when you've been in for murder....I thought been self employed window cleaner was the way to go....NOW FU@K OFF.....before I start to get angry and slip back to the old me....

I am deffo makign my flyers more simple and less professional, I like your tick box idea, 2-4 per 300 thats very good I got 2 in 1000. People are right, flyers are ****, I dont no why? All they have to do is call or facebook, if you go round then they say yes then? Odd one that. Only got 400 left now, done 200 today. No calls as yet, a majority of windows were filthy, deffo no windy doing them. Lookign forward to next week wehn I door knock each day all day and can make a compare then.

Facbook is hit and miss, its all timing, when you put your adverts on, I post a copy and paste add on in the morning, to 58 groups, take a while of course, then I bump it at 7-7:30pm. I have got about 8 custys in last week. Its pretty good, get days where quiet and some ok. I got a text at 12:55 last night though, custy asking for windows to be done lol. Apart form that, the flyering is **** and local ads/flyers in chippys etc....Not going too well, but gotta keep on it. I working out how to make a post and it reach more people, also I would liek to no whom it reaches as I dont know. I get 40 -70 reach on a post, you have to have the correct wordings in it. Need to learn more about FB and maximizing reach and what kind of post attracts people, only thing is when you make an ad and post it in a group within an hour its gone dow the page, I bump alot all 50 odd, missions, fb takes a while but worth it.

My guess on this is people don't like to phone strangers, or they say "I'll do it later" or whatever and forget.

That is why I went with text "quote" to my mobile so then they don't have to call anyone, and also the tick thing, I also deliver on a Saturday and the flyer must be in the window Monday morning, so they are forced to actually DO something instead of putting it off indefinitely, they also don't need to pick up the phone and talk to a stranger.

Yeah, that is what I do on FB I say call or text for a call back or just message me on FB. I will deffo have that text on my new flyers, text for a quote. Great idea that. I been also making a list on pc and print off of houses that have sold and I going to keep flyering them when I think the new people will move in, I made a list and then put it to a map and I will go around that area and check if anything is different, I hope it works as bit of work but plenty of houses have 40 odd dotted off. Or I will just door knock, should be able to work out when they move in, will be on t so they wont be in the house thast long tillI come knocking.
