I only mention prices in private messages and get a postcode and address to check it on google maps. But I always say the cheapest I do a normal house for is £10, if there are any awkward windows or its bigger than average £12. £8 for a normal small bungalow or flat.

If they don't like it they don't get their windows cleaned by me, I am reliable, regular, helpful, friendly and do a good job, I make sure to mention I don't just clean glass, I will clean their frames and sills, also I will clean their front and back doors, then when I do a first clean I will often see what I can do to add a little extra, like knock the spiders/cobwebs from under their porch and give it a quick once over etc, but that may well be more difficult if trad, but takes seconds WFP.

bookface seems to attract muppets that's why i stay well clear
Had only one person not pay and built my round probably 75% from facebook, and that person eventually paid because I told the admin of the page and she threatened to ban her from the selling page if she didn't settle her bill.

Serious enquiries come via the website 'contact me' form. They have to go to some trouble to fill it in, so they don't tend to do so unless they really are interested.

Just read Smurf's post further up the page @Scottie, how about diversifying a bit and offer gutter clearing too. Just look out for stuff hanging out of the gutters as you walk round.

Also, maybe change your look? Try canvassing in your work clothes and wear your pouches too. Take your ladders and gear in your car too. It looks like you've been working in that street already. I canvassed a new estate years back and I wore my pouches as I canvassed. It worked for me

I find that a good 50% are a waste of time that contact me through my website. Some come good though and my site has more than paid for itself. If anyone needs a website building contact @Dodger, he's a member on here, but doesn't post much. If anyone wants to contact him, I'll pass on any messages.

I'm not saying anyone to risk life and limb to offer other sevices but if you can use the right kit and can do it safely then when not.

Tuffers, I am deffo doing that wearing clothing like I am cleaning and door knocking each road as I clean, I had planned that, deffo top idea mate. I think FB is good, I have custys all on £10 and £12 for 3 bedrooms and 8-10 for two bedrooms. Just get soem mupets whom soon dont reply, I leave them as they want a cheap windy and if they dont reply it means they are going to be a waste of space.

I find I am making 1 a day on FB, sometimes its been 2 in the last few weeks. I will stick with the door knocking as I am smart casual and when working knock each road I am in with my pouches on etc. See if it works, can only try.

Flyers though are just ****, really are....

One day I will build to gutters, but I need to take it step by step first and make sre I have the right tools and info on what I am doing. I will have to get a WFP as I want to do the facsia etc and need a pole. or can you do it with tap and the rinse...oh I will work that out later date.

Scottie, Gutter cleaning has a way of finding you, so be prepared to move on gutters at any time. You don't want to have to tell a window cleaning customer that you can't do their guttering for them.

I am making quite a good living from smurfing. .sorry guttering at the mo.but tends to be seasonal

community cafes - most towns have one -sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate- iv done free window cleaning just so im seen -an example being the community cafe , the place is heaving and over the yrs iv been asked no end of times for a price and im prepared to be paid "as and when" long as the moneys there behind the counter next week . the cafe folk spread the word too.

can remember offering doing free windows in return for a few forkloads of spuds from an old boys garden- later green beans, i ate very healthily that year! when i think about it i reckon itd be a great way to build a sociable-joe round, offering free window cleaning on facebook in exchange for something .
