Mistaken pole identity ????

2 weeks ago I decided to buy a Phoenix 'X' 22 pole. I have a SLX 22 but liked the look of the phoenix.

Anyway I order the pole, it comes. Looks lovely with their new red lightweight brush. I set it up with an AquaTap and off to work I go.

After an hour I think this is not as good as the SLX, its bending like a Beckam free kick so gutted, I switch back to SLX.

Monday I try again with it but its just not as firm as the SLX.

After some thought on this I wondered if I had actually got the pole that I ordered or was it inferior?

Today I phoned WCW and questioned them about the pole that they sent me, and it turns out that I have been sent the Hybrid pole and not the 'X' That I had payed for.

After going mad at them they are sending out an exchange tomorrow.

If it wasn't for the fact that I had already got a pole the quality of an SLX I wouldn't have known this and would have had an inferior pole at a dear price.

Mistake ? I don't know but I told them that if they are sending out poles that look alike to customers then they should be checking them properly before hand.

For your information, if you order a Facelift Phoenix pole, the Hybrid has blue ends where they come out of the clamps, and the carbon 'X' has silver ends'

Everyone makes mistakes. Mine has the blue ends. I don't find it bends that much but if its not the one you ordered then yer entitled to the one you ordered. Good of them to send out a replacement straight away but take yer point of checking.

Oh I always had a good experience with them.

well u cant please em all! and thats so very true in this trade, you can do a lovely job on the windows but if ur face doesnt fit u will be on your bike .

I have alway had a good experience with wcw. The thing is everyone makes mistakes and if wcw do they tend to fix them asap.

Did it have an 'x' on the pole sticker?

It had only phoenix on the pole sticker



Its kinda been resolved now. They apologised, exchanged the pole ( even though it was scuffed, covered in dust and has no sticker on at all) and sent me a couple of clamps and piece of squeegee rubber.

When I unpacked the second pole I almost rung them back to cancel the order completely as I felt the 2nd pole had been just thrown in the tube. The first pole I received looked a lot better. but after calming down a bit, have decided to keep it and just get on

So you have no idea if it's a hybrid or carbon pole then as they are both black?

So the first pole was an order picking error then?

Now they have been sent the right pole that you odered but is damaged/not new maybe?

I have both of these poles,there is a massive difference.the hybrid is really whippy,hard 2 tell them apart.the full carbon has silver marking on the end of each pole section were as the hybrid has blue

When you say markings do you mean tape?

That's the problem with buying what you think are carbon poles as they look the same being black.

Even the base section is black on those poles which is just fiberglass.

sorry yes, there not like the gardiners poles which have tape.the phoexnix sections come completely out. there is no tape.what they have done is to colour each end of the pole either blue or silver so you do not 2 pull it all the way out ,which has happened 2 me more than once.

Thats right mate, I identified it on the phone to them by the different coloured ends. The first had blue, the other has silver. My suspicions in the first place were because it was so whippy compared to my SLX, otherwise I wouldn't have known.

I do think maybe its an ex demo or summat that they sent me after. They have just changed them all last week to the Mk 2.
