I used to do roofing I was a apprentice for 3 years roof tiles are very very hard to break they take men of 80+ kgs stomping over them all day with no prob sat all. I allso use a gutter vac with a steal crevice tool on it and when it gets blocked i tap it on the tiles and I've never had any probs what so ever. And for future reference roof tiles range between £0.80 up to about £2.50 for the most expensive ones so never go through insurance for this. Hope this helps
That's why i said it

Was roofing for a long time and i was ok and I'm not small

one thing is if it is a new build tell the owner its covered for ten years anyway ....i have seen loads of new tiles with built in cracks ...and where was the broken piece?.....wait and see if he follows up on it....i doubt he will ...why the bloody hell didnt the father in law clean the bloomin gutters in the first place...?

me thinks hes trying it on hold your corner and dont worry too much about it...after all...remember what fred did:rolleyes:

it is a warning to us all though....build these problems into your prices...

im going to go with the roofer mate to check them out idea see if he shy's away

he's since told me it was at the back of the property, now im pretty sure i didnt cause it coz the back was empty just gave it a light once over

I think that's perfect Neil. You are responding to his so called complaint and bringing with you a professional roofer. I don't think he will have a leg to stand on if and when the roofer tells him it wasn't you who cracked the tile and then you can walk away confident that you acted with the correct response to his complaint.

And quote the roofers call out charge while you're at it. Play the chunt at his own game /emoticons/wink.png
