Pricing help1?!?!

Your pricing would be a lot better if you concentrated on the amount of glass they have, instead of how many bedrooms they've got. Two different 3bed houses can take very different amounts of time to complete. Consider other things like access, window style, condition, tools needed etc. Things like this can make all the difference- miss one and it won't make a difference, but miss 2 0r 3 things and you could end up drastically underpricing the job. I still have most all of the work from when I started, and my prices are good(high)- this means that the customer is happy with the job they're getting, but more importantly, I'm happy to do the work.
Yeah, agree mate. I do have on my website, a pricing structure, 3 bedroom s are from 8-10 pounds, I dont want to charge more than 10 pounds really for 3 bed, unless the amount of windows are mental, I always ask on facebook how many windows do you have?

God I would just about manage 2 houses an hour at present, lol, rubbish innit. I prob take to much time as new and want to get it all perfect in my mind and over play it, but speed will come in time and now I dont need speed really, I need work. Talkign of work, I been looking across the net and DAVEYBOY1 is so right you have to door knock, I will be out all week door knocking flyers nearlt at an end, feel like dumping the 400 odd, **** return flyers, if I was going to get a round on flyers I would hav to put out about half a million. Anyway, I will make sure when door knocking and i quote I make sre how many windows and access etc.

£12 my minimum now for new jobs. I don't care if they only have 2 windows, I don't want to take the time to drive to a job, find a place to park, get the gear out, do the job, pack gear back into van etc for less than that. Plenty of other window cleaners out there who will charge less so I don't feel bad about it, I just don't want the low paying customers. Business is business. Also am going to send out a text once I work out how to word it to my customers who want me to call/text before I arrive, basically saying that's not a service I offer anymore. Had too many 'can you leave it till next week' or 'not today thanks, it's going to rain' replys and it's a pain in the **** when you have 5 houses in a village 20mins drive away and one wants you to come back next week. Messes the schedule up, I can't be arsed with it anymore. Like I said plenty of windys out there if they want that service. I'm not such a hardass in 'real life', i'm a big softy really, but like I said, it's purely business, I clean windows to make money not for fun.

Am also thinking of having new custys sign a contract/service agreement agreeing to what they have agreed to, also saying if they tell me on the day / without 48 hours notice they dont want them done, they still have to pay. That should weed out the ones that say its going to rain etc when I show up. They're messers, I just don't want the hassle. Tried it a few years ago and nobody had a problem/issue with signing, then dropped doing it cause im a lazy sod, wish I hadnt now.

There's one common denominator for all window cleaners; messers! Why the hell do we seem to be the only trade that customers think they can mess us about so much?
