Hi all, I was asked to go and quote a customer today so i popped round. the property was a three storey town house,

FRONT: three windows on top level, two of those patio door type windows with bars on the lower half in the middle and two med size windows on lower level and front door.

Side: three windows one one each level

Back: three windows on top level, three windows in the middle and two med size windows and a large patio door on lower level.

You need to pack up and drive around the back to access the rear of the property.

£18 quoted.

The customer then said they would want them only doing every three months, to which I replied that most of my customers opt for every 4 or 6 weeks but I would be happy to clean at that price every 8 weeks? o.k im really happy with the price, but i will need to speak to my husband, was her reply.

I just received this message from her:

thanks for coming round today, we're happy with the quote & are thinking roughly every 10 weeks for rebooking? If that's ok with you let me know when you'd like to come & if I'm not going to be home I'll leave the back gate open.

Thanks

I have just replied:

Hi ....., thanks for getting back to me and it was nice to meet you today also. With regards to the frequency of cleans, to enable to keep my prices competitive I only offer a four, six and eight week duration between cleans simply because the longer the windows are left the amount of time and water it takes to clean increases. Please let me know what you would like to do? Thanks again for you time today.

The answer I received was:

Sorry, didn't realise that, we'll leave it then

Thanks

My question is, what would you have done?

I would have done exactly what you did mate. Its for them to conform to your schedule/s not the other way around. The only exception is if you make it pay. i.e charge more.

it takes me 7 weeks to get round i offer 7 weekly or 14 weekly simple an strate to the point most have it 7 weekly as 14 is to long i offer that an that only no once a year dung or when ever they ring dung 7 or 14 or find some one eals lol she sounds like a pain in the ars:rolleyes:

Well done..they don't dictate to you

I had one day before yesterday on bookface

Said how much

I said £12

She said great be round Wednesday between 1200 and 1430

I replied with no i will do yours when i can fit it in

Then i said i could possibly do it sunday morning on the way to a 1 off job i have

She replied ok see you sunday at 2pm

So now she is being ignored

Already tried twice to dictate times and days to me so go jump love

I agree 10 to 12 weeks is to much you'll always be doing a first clean and never a maintenance clean, id of done the same

i cant say much as most of mine is probs three months anyway....if they request monthly a couple of times then they get monthly whatever the weather...and one things for certain...its a lot easier...i am trying to move it closer ...but gradually...

i would have said yes but...for twenty as i dont like odd pounds.../emoticons/biggrin.png

its probably not a good idea to give them the choice as it confuses custys...they are simple creatures...

i had one who wanted me monthly then two weekly then monthly then when ever he phoned...and another similar and now she wants me monthly again....so i have left her till i can be bothered...

I would have done it but with wfp as apparently the windows stay cleaner longer so a couple of weeks past my 8 weekly would make no difference

Toungue in cheek. Sorry couldn't resist

Seriously you did right. 10 weeks is a awkward time.

There you go posh.....yea getting the hang of it already....lol :giggle:

I would've quoted a lot more than £18.00.....considering the number of windows/patio doors etc and the fact he would have to pack-up and drive around to the back of the premises to gain access to the rear of the property.

you made it complicated with so many options that the lady didnt know what number to say in my opinion

I'm betting she just wanted really a one off clean anyway so was looking for the cheapest price as they do

I tell them all every month, yet some say every 8 weeks. When the price goes up, they don't understand. I explain its less work and windows are more dirty hence harder to do..."O" OK.

I do have 1 Asian doctor who said he goes away allot. That was in July. He can swivel when he phones me again..or its double £
