yep I have now started delivering leaflets explaining about online banking...I was just thinking today how much easier it is not to have to go out and make small talk to get my money..

hi tuffers
so i shouldnt be overly concerned about how 'compact' my round is? I should just concentrate on getting as much work as i can and working as hard as i can. but what about stepping on other peoples toes? what is the industry like in that respect?
Get the work and compact the round from there. Say you get one house in a road, after a while you might get another in the same road, then your round gets a little bit more compact. Stuff treading on other people's toes, if they haven't got that house you have just got, then tough tittys.

Agreed - it's good to keep decent relations with other cleaners tho as you can pass jobs to each other when it suits

No one has a right to any area

The agreement is with property owner

But there are some meat heads you really don't want to cross poles with ....( mentioning no names)

hi mark welcome to the forum

if you keen mark and work your butt off canvass hard, the nights are just starting to pull out

you will get graft.

You will get loads of work, you will be knackered at the end of the week

i dont look for graft but it comes I pick up graft all the time. When I first started wish there was a forum for advice what a bonus.

when your canvassing brass neck dont let anybody get you down, if you get knocked back hayho

happens to us all when you leave through that gate remember hayho you will never see them again

looking forward to here how your getting on

tax is right they might even give you there **** graft too

looking back they gave me some xxxx but it was work at the end of day

Thanks everyone for the advice.

I'm gonna give it a go, part time and see how much work I can muster up at the weekends.

I'm going to buy a van and start trad and when it starts to pick up I will install some sort of diy wfp system.

I'm gonna get the van sign written, business cards letterheads and leaflets printed.

my Mrs said she cold call businesses for leads from home and drop leaflets (we have a young baby so she got nothing better to do!) but she refusing to canvass. fair enough I can't force her.....

that means I can only canvass on sat/sun. does this effect results? I guess less people will be inbut my only option as I work full time.

Thanks again

mark

That's how most start up including @daveyboy1 recently as you still have to pay the bills whilst building a round up.

I had the advantage of being in the game 23 years off and on

Even when working full time i kept a few good custys for years

Also when i gave up full time work i did some driving for a mates firm on quiet days until I was completely full up with work

Maybe do a bit of agency work when you make the transition to full time windie

hi mark

reading with interest and just thought I'd say how I started.

A mate took me out to show me the technique 11 years ago ( traditional ) he gave me 5 houses!

I then bought a round worth about 300 a month ( good because it's all set up close together) but I found by far the best way to gain work is get out there and do a good job. wear something with ur phone number on ur back. people will ask u all the time and if u do a good job people will talk..

11 years later now on the wfp and still picking up new customers
