This is the reason why i hate going to quote industrial units

The firm has just recently moved into the unit so want to get it up together and keep it up together. Once the guttering has been sorted at the back then will be a 6 monthly job that could be done by guttervac./emoticons/smile.png

I might try that for a million.pounds but otherwise...
Must have really neglected their maintenance for years smurf

Now that sounds a tasty option smurf, worth keeping them sweet then. And plenty of kindling for your wood burner too :)

I've got wide feet boar, I have t been able to fit some types of shoe since I was a teenager. I now tend to stick to brands with a. Good wide fit, Adidas isn't one, nor any other common market leading trainer. I currently wear inov-8 they are a fell running brand turned trainer maker, mine have the 'climbing rubber' sole that's meant to stick but wear fast, but it's the upper that's worn through. I might patch them and try them and just be careful not to drop the ladder on my foot.

I usually wear german para boots, have big feet as well.

Love sketchers as they fit really well, but they are **** for grip, wouldn't go up ladders in them, well, in dry amazing grip, in the wet bloody awful

Could be a market for 'ladder trades' shoes perhaps as listening to you regular users, it seems a lot of trial and error is required to find a good solution for individuals, and so far Google hasn't revealed any magic shoe to me

Can't use one around the back as the gap is only 1m wide, muddy an uneven so ever a tracked picker you would not be able to put the outriggers out. The front they don't want doing at the mo as is clear.

Cherry picker?

i bet they got the unit cheaper because if the state of it, factoring in the scaffolding, I wouldn't feel bad about making it 100% safe before felling a single tree ;-) it's only money after all to a big firm, zeros in a bank account

another sh.t shoe make worth mentioning so you dont waste money is the Ecco brand. wide fitting and very expensive over a 100 notes, they slip on ladders as the rubber sole is too hard

My budget is now ultra minimal so no worries if there are a 100 notes they're going to land on my feet, I have been eyeing up the timberlands though which are in screw fix, and checking ebay for a bargain

At the end of the day it’s up to them what they decide but it still has to be done. Especially now I have sent them the camera survey pics etc so they can see how bad it is and understand that its not going to be an easy job.

Pictures paint a thousand words and all that

Sounds good smurf. On a job where there's a lot of residual stuff not picked up by the vac, do you then pressure wash/ hose the interior till it's clean or leave it slightly mucky. I imagine on the after photos that wouldn't look good even if you got 99% out

I don't tend to show after pics as customers are not really that bothered as they know I've done the best job I can. I do sometimes flush gutters through if need be but not very often. Gutter clearing is just that and is not to make the inside surface of the guttering look spotlessly clean.

why?

Guess it's all subjective?I had to climb a 13m ladder the other day, take a leg lock, remove both hands, lean back and read a symbol on the floor. Funny day.

Because we're all human beings and not robots I guess. We all recognise different risks and implement what we subjectively may think is required. I suppose health and safety legislation is introduced to eradicate this.
