Which pump? help needed!!!

Right lads I need a advice on which pump is the best for this task!

Ive set up a rainwater harvesting system at my dads commercial unit Ive got 6 Ibc tanks that I need to transfer water when needed to my van

I'm thinking,hose connected to tap on the tank,pump through inline filter into di vessel and into van. The whole length of hose from barrel to van will be about 10 m if this makes a difference.

What inline filter do u guys recommend??? it will be standard garden hose,and we're can I purchase one.

And what is the best pump from what I've read it needs to be powerful but not to powerful has it will use resin quicker

I trust your rainwater has been filtered before going into your 6 IBC Tanks, so either a sub-pump or in-line pump with 1" hose as a minimum for faster filling to van (could even add another filter here). Van tank now full of rain water, so...van pump to push rainwater through the DI vessel/s = pure at the brush. This way gives you faster van fills and you DI as you use it.

Unless of course you're using one of the IBC Tanks to store your pure water...you'll still need a larger diameter hose pipe than garden hose for fast filling of the van tank.

Always remember.....slow flow through the DI Vessel is best :thumbsup:.

The rain water is coming of a newish metal roof into metal guttering which I jetted out.

I've fitted a makeshift filter at the top of the down pipe in the running outlet and also one at the bottom of the downpipe before entering the first Ibc tank.testest this water its 011 on the TDS the last 2 include tanks its a low as 008

Today I've decided I'm guna fit a inline filter between each tank on the overflow pipes not seen this done before and I fink it could make

the last few tanks almost ready to go!!!

Also decided on just a inline booster pump to give it that extra push through the vessel

Does anyone no the cheapest place to get one of these?????

Any thoughts???

I fill my van tanks just fine using a submersible pump over a distance of about 20m so you should not need a booster pump. If you intend to use a inline filter & di setup on the outlet side of the static system then might be best to use a half inch pipe. Will make the fill time alot slower but will give the resin a chance to do its bit. Or use a fast fill much larger hose & fuel type fill nozzle as mentioned previously you see at petrol stations & have the di tank/s in the van instead before the wfp pump/s

I've fitted taps to all the tanks and have decided I don't want submersible pump rather use a inline pump but unsure about the correct one!pumps aren't my forte!!

Another reason I want to pure before van is I have 2 window cleaners who use trolleys wanting to buy pure water of me so can make abit toward costs!and I have the space for a few more tanks if needed

Are you after 240v or 110v as there are some on ebay?

I used a 240 v inline pump, 25mm alkathene pipe in and out. It took about 3 hours to fill 100l tank. This was pumping over 150m and up about 30m. It worked hard. I'm sure that pumping without such a stress it would be super quick. Cost about 30 quid on eBay. I'll try and dig out a reference for it if you're interested?

I have the space for a few more tanks if needed

Wish I had all this space for so many tanks /emoticons/sad.png....

Get another 1 or even 2 more IBC Tanks to store your pure water in the unit....from these, you can then fast-fill using an in-line pump to your van tank and fast-fill your customers containers/tanks.

You'll still need the larger diameter hose for faster flow/fill....and that's with any pump :thumbsup:.......
