Any of you got this homebase ladder?

Myself I would not use a diy rated ladder for work but looks ok for the occasional job.

I'm sure @boarcity and other trad only guys will post what ladders they think a best for trad work.

I spent a year at abru years back and actually made these ladders ,they are good but will only last 6 months daily use the abru trade ladder is alot more solid ladder and well worth the money

How's this for stupid !! If we made a mess of a ladder we scraped it no one cared as it was worth more scrap than it was sold for

The abru ladder especially the domestic is rubbish quality made in a factory where no one cares about them as there a quick b&q order so the factory bang them out in huge quantities, you can't get any better advice about a ladder than from the guy that made it m8

a cheaper and much better option is the trade ladders by LYTE , iv a few sets of lytes my workers use and these ladders take a proper beating . that reminds me i must order a set of feet after 1 foot shattered after ladder was thrown over a gate in temper

The reason I looking at those links I have put up is because I want light ladder, but there isnt any point getting those one I put up if they dont last long.

Light usually means cheaper ,I'd look more towards the youngman trade of its a light quality ladder your after

Lyte 3 section 12 rung from ladderstore is only 157 quid and a lot more stable and solid than diy ladders

They're quite heavy but the 2 section ones are lighter and good quality

i got 2 yrs out of my Abru and they were not diy model , theyre rated at 23 stones . in fact after 2 yrs i put them in my shed when i started using meatier trade ladders , then few years on i sold them on ebay to an electrician . thats another bonus of the abru you can put it vertical inside very small houses, for example when carrying them thru for access
