Conservatory clean

Great bits off kit though but is bloody scary using that roof section.

Especially when its glass and you are working above looking down some crinkly top sat below /emoticons/biggrin.png

I did one a couple of weeks ago. I used some high steps, a hose pipe and wfp. Came up really nicely and I never had to climb on the roof. I like that conservatory roof ladder kit @Smurf but I only do a dozen maybe fifteen a year. Are you using wfp or trad on this job @marksss ?
wfp mate just use my ladders as step ladders should be ok

I don't like using step ladders myself as you are working sideways when poling a roof. Idealy I've found you need to gain a good height so facing forwards I find easier and safer to do as shown in that vid.

only option ive got at moment, and i cant turn work down she wanted her gutters done to but havnt got the means to do that either

The only time I might use a step ladder or hopup is when detailing the sides.

I understand what you are saying so just go careful you don't fall of the thing as step ladders are bloody dangerous to use at any height especialy on uneven and /or sloping ground

Have a look on gumtree maybe as I bought a good ali 12 rung triple ladder & standoff local for next to nothing;)

As a guess probably just trafic film remover or virosol, ubik2000 etc
Hi Smurf, Ive read a lot of threads when the boys have mentioned using virosol. Whats the best way to apply this product and what type of cleans do you use it for?

thanks mate

I think @Tuffers prefers to use virosol so would be the best person to help
Virosol is great for green stuff on plastic. Dilute it at 10:1 and see how you get on. Don't leave it on for too long. Apply by dipping your brush in a bucket of the mix or spray it on with a pump sprayer. Some tiger stripes are too stubborn and a magic sponge with cream cleaner will be needed.

Some say don't use on glass, some say it's ok. I have read some people use it on window clean first cleans. I personally have never used it on glass as I don't see the need. I use Ecover neat on the brush if it's a manky first clean on windows. Apply it on Polycarb roofs but NOT self cleaning glass! Don't leave it on white plastic any more than 15 minutes (well I don't) as the white can turn pink!
