Zero detailing

this is what I used. Loctite also do a range of cold weld epoxies. has worked just fine on the Wagtail Aluminium channel. imagine it would work equally well on SS. ettore Brass? Not sure...
...and yes the same stuff works fine on SS channels.

1. Make your cuts and adjust pedantically until you have it just right

2. Tape on back so epoxy doesn't foul up the inside of the channel

3. 12 hours, still pliable so rough trim with blade.

4. 24+ hours, file and sand

....now, I've got some Ettore brass tucked away somewhere...

Guys, bit the bullet & took your advice about cutting channels at an angle had a go on my own windows and yes it does cut down on detailing. Did the rest of my channels and used them today for the first time & it did save me time. I still had to detail bits but maybe I haven't quite got the rubber or the channels right.Any advice would be welcome. By the way this forum is boss.

This needs a thread on its own Eric, excellent detail on the how to pictures  very impressive finish

If it works then fine

Is less of a point to get into the edges on frames with no rubber but will work

I would slightly squash the end front to back to stop the rubber riding out of the edge while using the bit you can see in pic 2 just pinch a bit

Then play with the ends until they work as good as you can get

Have you worked with these mods yet @Simesy? In pic 1 is the rubber not hanging over the edge too much? IMO it would leave a trail of water (not that I'm a trad professional). I use Unger S channels and just took a pair of pliers to mine and bent the ends over without cutting it at an angle. Seems to work for me.

You're probably right tuffers about cutting the rubber down a bit more I'm just scared about scraping the glass.I will have a play about again tomorrow. Thanks for advice guys.

I went round the windows at my house the other day measuring the angles as I needed to, and they came out at 60 degrees.
check out these two annotated pics...As you can see on this type of frame I could get away quite comfortably a shallower angled cut and I originally used to use ony about 30° because I felt it looked 'prettier', but that I still had corner issues on deep frames. I found however that at 45° I had no issues...so...all mine are now 45°

I'm obviously measuring a different way. I measure from the squeegee business side, so 45 degrees will be the same which ever way, but my 60 degrees is, 30 degrees. So everybody's out of step but me!!
