Good luck @Diwrnach hope you get the job looks a challenging job , pricing is key, undercharge and you'll be sick as a parrot . I'm guessing we all want a good money making job like that ????keep us posted !!

Thats a biggy, why not go halfway between the two quotes Smurf gave? With doing a job like that, remember you are not really getting a break, as its an endless maze of windows, book yourself in for a full spa at the end of the week, or you might end up in the care home, as a permanent resident.

I dont know if you could say that you are giving a quote, but that it may not be accurate until you complete the job the first time to get a definite price for the following clean, so price higher, then if you feel guilty, adjust accordingly? To me its a job, that you do want, but I wouldnt be happy just getting my normal daily rate£120-150, I would be wanting £250 a day for myself ( to cover physio bills)and whatever a second person would charge you, which may be similar. £500- £600 a day(total) for wages, ouch. probably what the manager gets a day alone? Looking forward to your number crunching, pulling figures out the sky quote. All the best.

Being realistic you have to make jobs like that worth your while or there is no point in doing them
2 men working say 40 hours each = 80 hours total which works out 37.50 an hour = 3k

Not including any hire costs or other expences.

2 men working again 40 hours each = 80 hours total = 18.75 an hour = £1500

Not including any hire costs or other expences.

I know which one I would go for... do you @Tuffers
So do I, but there ain't 2 weeks work there for one bloke. If @Diwrnach puts in a quote for 3 grand I think they will spit their coffee out tbh.

But if he does and gets it, then fair doos.

The bottom line is, that will not take 2 weeks to do, even at snails pace.

At the end of the day it's up to ppl what they want to charge but selling on price alone anyone can do. I'm also sure some given a chance would be quite happy to do that job for £10 an hour £60 - £70 per day all by ladders too.

That is the dilemma we all face as what may seem expensive to some customers may also seems dirt cheap to others. That is the reason why to save wasting my time and theirs I would ask directly how much are they paying the other lot to do the job and why are they looking for someone else. They may not give a straight answer but if they are not going to be honest and straight with me then it’s certainly not a great way to start a business relationship if you ask me.

I'm still waiting for a reply, I know she works the weekends so yesterday may have been her day off, we shall see, but if I get no response I might forget it to be honest.

If you've got Jesus helping you then I suppose he could turn the water into wine if things get stressful.
Or teach me how to become a zombie and raise from my grave if I fall off the ladder.

that is a massive job i think itd take at least 4 8 hour days and thats if everything goes perfect.

id say 250 a day as thats what some people get on a estate of houses side by side also remember

WINDOW CLEANING IS A SKILL ..

BUILDERS GET BIG MONEY ROOFERS GET GD MONEY WINDOW CLEANERS NEED TO GET RECONITION LOL

what is the terms for payments? ie 60/90 days or on the day?nothing in the world narks me more than doing a job knowing that in a month and a halfs time i'll get paid, and what happened to the last windie?
I ran in to this some time back on my first main commercial contract, a chain of 52 pubs. We had got the job through connections and reputation. Initially, we would submit an invoice to head office at the end of each month once the jobs had been done, and receive a cheque within 7 - 10 days.

A few months in all of a sudden it became 30 days from invoice, then 60 days from end of months date on invoice (so if you invoice on the first or second of the month ) you could be waiting 90 days.

Spoke to accounts department about it saying it was unacceptable, they said tough that was the deal. I said thanks and went home.

A month later their head of maintenance was on the phone asking why the windows hadn't been done. I told him that as my staff wouldn't wait 90 days for their wages I couldn't accommodate them anymore. He said err ok and hung up.

Twenty minutes later I got a call from their accounts department sounding very worried asking me to please do the windows and that a cheque would be waiting on the desk as soon as I took in the invoice in future. Turned out the maintenance man had reamed out the MD for screwing with the smooth running of the operation, the MD in turn went downstairs and escorted the head of accounts off the premises. /emoticons/smile.png

Now for all commercial contracts they abide by my terms. 'Cheque on completion, on the day' if they can't do that they cant have us. They don't wait months for their salary why should you? They only do it because for long enough we have let them get away with it.

Spoke to a good mate who does nearly all commercial work, so works on a daily rate rather than per property like most of us. At the previous pairs time frame he would be :- Sounds like Smurf was closest.

His Daily rate £200 = £1000

His staff member £150 = £750

Machinery £750

Total - £2500

No machinery required so a nice bonus

If the current guy is using a cherry picker and it's not his own, that's £300 per day alone. I'd quote around 800 for that job if it was round here and get it done with 2 men maybe 3 and knock it out in 1 day. Windows look in pretty good Nick so wouldn't take as long.

if you are busy busy go in at 300 , if you need the work 200

if desperate and with nothin much on the horizon ,go in at 100. thats what id do, 100 is still loads better than sittin at home watching dickinson

i once did a mansion for 36 quid, for 3 years! needs must + it was much better n dickinson !

Pretty much hit that nail on the head Boarss but I wouldn't go a third as low as ideally where I want to be cause in a year they are going to be crying that you tripled price.

I would go £300 and give the old 'I have a quiet day net week so ass long as it can be done on that day I will do you a one off £150 special introduction'

Gotta be worth a punt.
