Crooked window cleaner

Just took on a new customer today. She asked me to check her gutter as it was overflowing during the last downpour, she was disappointed as her previous window cleaner that she'd had for years charged her £140 to fit a gutter hedgehog which she hoped would prevent the overhanging sycamore from blocking the outlet. I went up and unblocked the outlet and there was no gutter brush to be seen, I took a photo and gave her the bad news. The old windie hasn't been seen since October...what a low life.

It may have blown away if it was not fitted in properly with the clips you have to buy extra

Hedgehog I've fitted a lot off and like smurf said unless clipped in with the clips it does blow out the clips are peanuts as well

Wouldn't it be in the back garden if it had blown out. It would have to travel a good 100 feet through the air to clear her fence. I'm betting he never even got the ladders off the roof rack.

I would never accuse anyone for not doing their job properly myself and certainly not slag them off on forums. But that's just me you understand:D

I wouldn't ordinarily but this lady is a friend of mine that's now become a customer. She paid good money to have gutter brushes fitted to all gutters and there are none to be seen in any gutter. When you factor in that the character has never come back when he was doing six weekly cleans I feel it safe to say, on the balance of probability, he has seen her off.

Did a patio for a lovely old lady a couple of weeks ago, she couldn't get out because it was so slippy. said I would do her windows for her as well when I finished, mentioned at the end I could do them every 6 weeks for her, and she told me she had, had the same window cleaner for about 3 years, now I am not joking when I say they had not been cleaned in at least that amount of time, they were so bad, but she is nearly blind and I bet they just rip her off, I didn't want to say this though as it would sound like I was slagging them off to get the work.

there are some right **** holes about.

Had a customer who told me the last window cleaner nicked 2 grand from a draw in his office. No full proof evidence but before he done the job the money was there after it wasn't and it was too late.

That’s what they do best rummaging around on the ground cheap.

Mind you it looks like one is getting a bit amorous in the pic maybe getting ready to mount the other one /emoticons/biggrin.png

I couldn't sleep at night if I knew I was ripping off anyone, let alone an old nearly blind lady.

Dunno how some people can live with themselves.

I sometimes don't do bathroom/toilet frosted glass windows as well as other windows...... well I think I won't but then do them just as good anyway.

Unfortunately there are plenty of rogues in all sorts of trades.

£140 for sorting one gutter out ???? that's robbery itself. £20 more like
You're welcome to that one then. /emoticons/biggrin.png

Missing the odd frosty is not such a bad thing but its a dangerous game; If theres is a bird **** that was there before they went to work, and then its still there when they get back.... along with your invoice on the doormat, you are probably going to lose folk.

I had that problem when i was subbing..was subbing extra work to employ a mate and he nearly cost me my work for missing what he thought he could get away with

I would never skip one, even frosted, but I do "consider" not doing such a thorough job on them, but as I am thinking about it I end up doing them the same as any other.

I get paid to clean windows not paid to miss windows out..

Mind you I could work on that one I suppose and become a splash & dash stick waggler instead /emoticons/biggrin.png
