seems a bit much smurf, = £450 for a days work. weekly = £1800 per month.

they might chase me off the site

they are the main cleaning contractors, they are wanting to use me to just keep outside clean, i honestly dont know what prices they are expecting from me.

need to think seriously about this.
There are 4 homes? At Smurfs price that would add up to £600 a week or £2,400 every 4 weeks. Multiply that by let's say 12 weeks and the builders bill comes to £7,200. Just to flick a brush over 4 houses that would take 4 hours a week at the very max

£40 a house and I think you'd be in a shout of landing the work. Go in stupidly high and say goodbye to the work and new home owners seeing you working IMO.

Its Teesside, so whilst £160.00 sounds great, I expect that £100.00 is more realistic for the area.

The trouble is that with quotes like this you only have one shot at the cake. I wish we could command better prices like you guys can down south.

So you wouldn't quote £150 per house per week then Spruce?

Oh I see now you say it's just sub work that is a totally different story:rolleyes:

I would tell them to go do one as I don't work for anyone else but me. I’m also betting the last window cleaner done it for peanuts so in the end he told them to do one too....

******* nationals my **** /emoticons/biggrin.png

One thing I will say is once you give a price your happy with don't let them talk you down as you will end up hating the job and as @Smurf says eventually chuck it anyway. They will also respect you more and less likely to muck you about with payments ect.

At the end of the day you chaps can go in as low as you like as is no skin off my noise as I've said before I don't do sub contract work for a good reason.

What I will say though if it's still a building site those show homes will get covered in shite so will not be a quick job that some may think and pice it for even if they where done every week. /emoticons/biggrin.png

after all that its just the window cleaning on the show houses, a good price agreed, now doing a price for new build cleans, gutters, windows,

easy work,

Hi Tuffers

No; this is for all 4 houses. As a show house I expect they would be together and it won't take long to run the brush over the fascias and gutters.

I would stick to £25.00 each but I wouldn't count on getting the business. In our area of Teesside we wouldn't get £10.00 for a window clean of a house that size. Add a couple of bucks for the quick run over of the fascias and gutters and the garage door will probably get you £12.00.

The competition will charge £6.00 for a house that size and the general customer perception is that a 3 bedroom semi shouldn't cost any more than £6.50.

There is another cleaner I know of working Ingleby Barwick and quotes £8.50 a house every 4 weeks, but cleans the garage door as well.

My post was tongue in cheek Spruce /emoticons/smile.png. How the hell do you make a living with prices that low?

/emoticons/smile.png Sorry Tuffers - that flew straight over my head. o_O

If you are young and fit you should be able to clean those 4 show houses in just over an hour tops. This makes for a reasonable hourly rate. But that won't translate into a good daily rate if you don't keep it up.

The secret is to weed out the more difficult houses and stick with the easy clean ones which will earn you money.

As I say, I wish we could ask the prices the guys get in the south.

I did already and now you say it's just the windows ffs /emoticons/biggrin.png

as sp said be careful...thats how i found this forum after a company got me doing that called houseproud of knutsford...and how did I get caught out...

she paid the first two invoices straight away...and then....they stopped coming until when it got to £325 I pulled the plug and had to go to court online to get my money so do beware.

sparkle clean reminds me of another company I worked for...and they were great but..they did set the prices...and the last windy whom I met fell out with them...

as for prices they set them ...and the one that didnt pay I was charging something like £15 to £20 for an outside clean of the windows..but it was a fair while back...

if I was approached again...no matter how nice she sounded on the phone I would only do one job and would expect payment before I did any more...

tons of new builds going up around here...

AND MUCHO THANKS TO MR SPRUCE FOR ADDING SOME BALANCE TO PRICES CHARGED.

area prices are very different....as are house prices down south east london way..

me told you me got yorkshire pudding and big slices of roast beef mash and peas...for...

£2,50 yep that be two pounds and fifty pence....yummy
