had a meet with the lady yesterday all went really well, im pricing for twenty property's to begin with but still very early days. Back to door knocking next week:)

we looked at the public contracts and they were woefully priced compared to domestics, just a fast tracked way of adding a large volume to your round to fry your brain.

Theres a few contracts at the moment we looked at, priced at approx. £50,000 for 2 years with a 1 year extension.

It felt strange canvassing again but didn't take long to get into the swing of thing.I've learnt a lot from last time round so wont be making the same mistakes twice.

Have also been in touch with Whizz-Bizz would love to get them involve have heard great things about them.
What were your canvasing mistakes, mate? Cheers.

When someone says they will call me I always believed them so I always get a yes or no from them if possible, never really made a dirty list so would end up with work being spread out and finally going in to cheap.

my experience.... done 10000 leaflets took 8 days to do door to door .. 2 replies

started canvassing last week my exp is that 4 -8 is ideal time to knock more people at home u see and no empty houses

got 11 houses in one street in a new devolpment perfect got 8 on thursaday out tonight got 4

save the money leafletin and get knocking doors people say yes. no or maybe

dont hold out much hope for maybes give card and go on

i want to get my round built up anyone any other ideas

quick update its been a slow month canvassing and work got in the way but got up to £350 but just landed a major lead through my web site will keep you updated but basically I've been given the opportunity to tender for 400 houses!!! meeting up tomorrow.

luc who did u go to about that tender or where do deatils be im in ireland and been trying to find these thats the sort thing that can make huge difference

Peter I just spent the evening emailing different companies and I managed to hook one...

Been canvassing again today 2 hours door knocking £70.00 back out again tonight /emoticons/smile.png

Have also got myself two canvassers to help me so I'm really hoping they make a difference to meeting my target that little bit quicker, they get the first clean for payment and they only go canvassing when I'm out they both have full time jobs and want some extra money.

Still lots of work out there, canvassed three hours on a big estate 10:30-11:30 then 2:30-3:30 and finally 5:30-6:00 with the following results 10 customers booked in £100.00 and £40.00 I think I can convince when I do the other windows and £30 of I will ring you!!! It'd be good if it was always like this, got half the other estate todo and a massive dirty list, will be doing them Sunday afternoon with my new team of canvassers:)

adam get on it i was out tonight for 1 hour and got 6 @ 6 its not much but hey its more money at end month luc how you get on doi n sunday canvassing how do people react on sundays to that never been out on sunday before

Will let you know peter, I had a couple of grumpy sods tonight so can't imagine it any different.

i do enjoy it i was out collectin money and done the houses i dont clean... a customer actualllly left an envolpe for me under her mat and in it was 30 quid payment...... shopping fecking vouchers lol

remy a dirty list is made up when driving or walking about during the day real dirty windows u know the type they stand out like a sore thumb. so u might pass 20 a day u right address down

then in evening call back to them alll knock the doors and give them a quote

at least half will say yes ok the rest welll theyr stinkers who dont clean ther bum never mind windows

so u get 10 new customers and thats a dirty list

luc who did u go to about that tender or where do deatils be im in ireland and been trying to find these thats the sort thing that can make huge difference
A lot of the bigger tenders are badly priced as the weighing process is heavy on price and not quality to about 70/30 ratio.

We took over one contract which included TUPE and we made around £10 per head per day. glad when we got the chance to break the contract after 2 years.

By the time we had paid all our transport costs, insurances, equipment, wages and holiday/employers NI, we also had to factor in directors wages to going to meetings regarding KPIs (me)

Not really pushing for big tenders was trying to break into the holiday home sector, but really to begin with just want regular well paid work

tenders very rarely tend to be well paid, its more regular "contract work" but a lot of companies in every sector only make a few quid her head per hour.

My mrs is a director for a gas company and they aim to make £4.00 per hour per head with public contracts
