How much water can i save?

Aquatap is great, as it just needs a quarter turn to put on or off, very quick, with both hands on pole, so you have control of pole when extended, works just like a tap.
does this tap fit the clx 27 not the new clx27

You also need to use polyurethane hose with the aquadapter, 8mm x 5.5mm, they won't work with hose like gardiners all season, it's too stretchy and pulls out of the aquadapter when you pull on the hose to turn it on and off.

cheers cat

Would the aqutap work with a swivel neck? I haven't taken the swivel neck off since i put it on a couple of months ago, it's a must for my jobs i'm so glad I bought it.

When I enquired, the aquatap people said it didn't work with a swivel, so I didn't buy one cos I love my swivel. (this was over a year ago, so it may be out of date info).

I have used a swivel with my Aquadaptor successfully, but have never used an Aquatap.

The mechanics of a Aquatap require the operator to turn the pole to switch the water either on or off which would appear to conflict with the same principle required to operate the swivel.

I'm sure that if you 'locked' the brush head onto the edge of the sill you could get the Aquatap to work, but what about those windows that have a concrete, stone or no sill?

I might give an aquatap a go as unlike the aquadapter the pole hose can be used on the oustside with it as well
£20 and it's yours...

I used the aquatap for all of an hour before deciding I hate it!

Even if I loved it, I now use a swivel, and love that more.

How did you find the aquadapter to work with Spruce?
I have sung the Aquadaptor praises since they first came out.

Admittedly, Peter Fogwill made the first version of this system with his Aqua Brush, but I didn't like the way he switched it on and off. The Aquadaptor ticked all the boxes for me. But even the latest units do add weight to the end of the brush head, and that weight gets heavier the more the pole is extended and the greater the angle it's used at.

SIL removed his (it needed a side spring replaced which meant drilling out 2 rivets) so be bought a pole tap from Purefreedom. I used his Slx22 a while back with his new tap. I must admit that the brush head was so lite without the Aquadaptor, but that pole hose loop was enough to convince me that the AD is worth the weight penalty.

I used a tap to switch water off, but I'm not able to comfortably hold a tap in my hand Alex Gardiner style and have full control of my pole. I have arthritis in my fingers. So the tap was always on the ground and bending down to pick it up all the time was a struggle as I have had a bad back from childhood. I also went through a number of pole taps a year. So for me it was the perfect solution. I saved water as I switched the water off immediately when I finished a window. I also then wipe the brush along the upper sills to remove any debris the water has flushed out of the gap between the sill and the window frame with the water off.

The AD on my Clx22 pole is still a mk2 version but it was an upgrade as it has a John Guest push in pipe fitting. It was bought in 2011 and the only thing I have changed is the front pull springs at 99p a piece ( probably 3 of them.) I have a newer lighter model on my Slx22 which again has never given a moments problems.

Alex Gardiner doesn't like these add on accessories as they do put extra strain on the end of the first section of the pole. But I would rather take the risk of damage to the end of the pole to give my old aching back a little reprieve during a working day.

Sound advice as always Spruce. I remember when I first got my pole in December I was surprised there was no way to control the water from the pole. For me it's not having to walk over to the tap bend down to turn it off, save water and also looks more professional to be able to control the water from the pole instead of running over to a tap. Agree about turning the water off for the sills as i find if the water is on it seems to push more muck out from the cracks which makes wiping the sill pretty pointless.

Pretty sure the AD will pay for itself in no time so if it works with the swivel then i'm giving it a go, will buy some extra springs.

Ive seen the gardiner video where he holds the hose next to the pole, i've tried this but for me it just does not feel natural/comfortable, he makes it look like it is though.

I was not fond of using aquadapters to be honest as adds weight to the end of the poles but after saying that it's a very convient way to control the water flow without having those anoying loops of pole hose at the base of the pole.

This on a belt is what saves me water.
I use this too. I didn't get on with the AD. I spent far to long tugging and it not switching off, then wasting water as I lowered the pole to do it by hand. It was a bit hit and miss to be honest and I found it to be frustrating.

The tap on a belt method is cheap to set up. When you turn on or off the flow reacts immediately. When they leak I change them. So this works for me. The downside is the loop.

Actually just recently realized that it's basically three components (barbed fitting+tap+rectus fitting), so it's a good idea to check which part is leaking when it does, or is it just the ptfe tape needs to be changed. Mine is over a year old now and it hasn't leaked at all.

That's why I like it as well, as it's immediately turning flow off. Normally as I finish rinsing, I hold pole with one hand, at the same time reaching for the tap to shut
