Welcome fella. Nothing that hasnt been said already, you lay the ground you walk on, but I guess you've figured it out by now. lol Hope to see you around FNG./emoticons/biggrin.png

Is your mate solar steve?
Near enough all of the windys on here make there own pure water.

Can you tell us there prices?

As for canvassing every one has there own methods but we all go out and knock doors. If I had a team come to my house calling about anything from charity to roofing let alone window cleaning I'd think it was a scam
No its not solar steve lol, im looking into buying the stuff to make my own water but again its nearly 1000pound and to buy it is 3p a litre, I worked for a chap who had all the filters built into his van system but he still went and bought it from that place, I couldn't work out if he was lazy or if making his own wasnt really that cost effective

Lazy, unless someone is starting out as a complete newbie with no funds then there your only target market for a very short time. Not including the fact they have to be local to you too. I would concentrate your efforts building a round and leave the fly by night schemes well alone.

Oh and learn to drive then the money you make is all yours not shared with someone else creaming off your work

I think 3x isn't to bad

Imagine he goes out and canvassers 3000 a month of work so you would pay £9000 which in return is £36.000 a year and the business as paid for itself within 3 month!

Most people never earn that kind of money never mind a business that pays for its self within 3 month!!!

Most of us have been at it a long time when things were easier and window cleaning wasn't thought of as a good career

The amount of times I got told well it's a bit of pocket money lol

I've been cleaning 19 year and I'm 34 I started part time when I was fifteen so have a well established round but if I was starting out now would probly take someone up on canvessing

I have always done my own canvassing but some people on here have said how they have problems doing it due to confidence/anxiety etc

Horses for courses. .some people can't just get out and do it so need someone to do it for them

Pure water can be made from a cheap 200 l ro di system which cost a couple of hundred at the most. I clean 400 customers with a 200 gpd system.

canvassing is just part off the job it just has to be done, you just pick up confidence as you go

the more you do the easier it is

no seriously if some one advertises and pays his dues....

we need to know...so like a big A or somat....

I do understand @Bingo giving me a good grilling, after all I am new here and might have been a bit foward when introducing (selling) myself, but I was shocked by the wording, after all no one likes being told that they r s**t at what they do!
Right....If you thought that was a 'good grilling'....best you remember to behave yourself in future because blah blah...(I'm only joking @superclear /emoticons/biggrin.png:D:D).

I apologise if you thought my :turd: comments were directed at you or your work.....they were more directed at the actual content and the way your post came across.

It was this one comment...'Once or twice a year I like to canvass for a cleaner somewhere else in the UK in order to gain a lump sum of money (this usually pays a chunk off my holiday)...' which irked  me a bit, and I then started picking holes in the rest of your post....that's the way I am (right /emoticons/biggrin.png or wrong ).

On further reading in this thread in the post of a little about yourself....you seem like an OK guy ...upwards and onwards Ricky /emoticons/smile.png

Everyone is a friendly bunch, you just got off on the wrong foot. It is quite frowned upon for people to just come on an their first posts are advertising.I always say image the forum being a pub. Were all chatting away and suddenly someone dives in the middle of your conversation saying hey buy this, go here, their great etc. If someone did that to you in the pub im pretty sure most would not take to kindly to it. /emoticons/wink.png

Best just to say hello and introduce yourself without advertising etc

Get to know people etc
Great way of putting it @Gav! Pub talk this early on a Friday? Well, now the day is going to go that bit slower!
