I used my liquidator quite a bit today, perfect for those long top openers.
Sorry TP, I had to go off yesterday, and I've only got a few minutes now. I think I have to disagree, I think the Wagtail as different from an ordinary squeegee, because of the pivot, it took me some time. The Liquidator is basically a channel, and so I wasn't expecting a difficult learning curve, just a bit of practice. So I was very surprised that I could not get it to work properly. I've been trying out things today, but I'm still not so sure. I'll come back to you later.

Yes the liquidator is a channel but it is not your basic channel .
I thought this but there is a bit too take into account your angle ( dependable on which handle ) used . Your technique has to change slightly I suppose different for people that have used self mod for quite awhile before hand.
In my opinion it needs to be like the first time you ride your bike with out staberlizers so you don't fall of it take a little time a little adjustment and hey presto .Some my have got it stright away

I think my post are getting lost in translation a little here. I'm not talking about the pivot action, I'm just talking about the channel. A strraight channel performs like most other straight channels regardless of whether its pivoting or not. Whereas a modded straight performs differently, and this liquidator performs very differently. Because it works so differently it will take longer for most to get the hang of, and I reckon it might even take even longer for someone such as yourself thats been in the game a long time, as your 'muscle memory' will be making you stick to old habits. Stick at it for a while, and I reckon you will change your mind on it. You have done the fix havnt you?

what i noticed straight away when using the moerman channel [fitted into wagtail handle]was that it reduced detailing . that ten seconds here, five seconds there add up. id think i shave 20 minutes off a day and im no expert with it yet. itll take time,the learning curve. but no doubt about it,this channel has got the edge,got what it takes
im really glad that the design of the plastic tips is such that they dont work loose from the channel. i gave it a real hammering this week, a lot of pole use too, the tips are still like brand new and snug fit

@captainzoom .....why have you used the 'Bad spelling' icon on TolishAPurd's post (#84), maybe you used it by mistake.....
Even to have this icon there for use in the first place, I think it's a bit insulting to whoever it's being used against.

Well, yes maybe you're right, I can be a stick in the mud sometimes. I'll tell what I've done yesterday. I have two handles, a Pulex, which does not grip the channel, and an old SYR quick release, which does grip. I was on some 'normal' work and had some time, so I thought I'd have a look. So, I've realised where I was, not going wrong, but not getting it right. I thought, back to basics, so put the Moerman channel into the Pulex handle, but the rubber fell out, but I have already tried nylon ties in the ends, but that threw the shape of the rubber out, so I went back to the old trick of whacking a dent in the middle of the channel to hold the rubber in place, although I did it by slipping a piece of nylon tie down the back of the rubber in the centre of the channel. Low and behold, it worked perfectly, I did seven houses entirely with this set-up and had no problems. With regard to technique, I did it the same as with my other squeegees. It was really nice, it did curl the pointed end of the rubber a couple of times, but I didn't worry as I new the plastic thing on the end wouldn't damage the frame or glass. Just one small thing, one of the windows had openers about 12 to 14 inches square, and it did not want to do it. I went on to put an Unger soft in, and that went OK. So now the big test, I put an Unger Hard in, and it didn't want to know. So that's where I've been going wrong, I always use Unger Hard in my main squeegees and wanted to do the same with the Moerman. The Moerman rubber had worn out on those seven houses (I had used it a bit before), and this is why I use hard rubbers. I didn't get as far as the quick release handle, but I think it will give the same result. I think, in retrospect, that I would have got on better with a 14 inch Liquidator, as the ten inch (which is nine and a half) is a bit on the small size. And that's as far as I have got.

i tried a dog eared wagtail ,several in fact - no matter what i did it worked badly, this must have been down to [my] user error
