Well my full time lad had arranged to have a long weekend, that's fine he gave me plenty of notice so OK.

My part time lad comes in this morning, before we have even started the van (to go and do a whole two hours of work) he's bitching about having agreed to come in for the morning on a bank holiday!

The key here, is he was asked, not TOLD, asked! And he said he wanted the extra hours!

So after his third comment in 10 minutes I retorted with 'well why don't you just f*&k off then?' 'No ones forcing you to be here'

Well, he then retorts, 'That's nice, I'm doing you a favor here!'

HE'S DOING ME A FAVOR? I gave the little ***** a job, gave him extra hours where and when even on occasions where there weren't really any hours going!

'Go home, don't need you, thanks for coming, will square your money in the bank today!'

That was him dismissed.

Next up I get an email from a customer (a real mother effing complainer, but only if there is grounds for complaint) saying that my full time lad had skipped the side windows (frosted bathrooms) not done the side of the conservatory and so on and informs me that our services are no longer required. (Not a real loss to be honest)

So I call up my full time lad, 'Whats the deal?' I ask,

'Oh well I was a bit tired and couldn't really be bothered' he says.

This is after he got back yesterday (a fair bit earlier than usual to be honest) and said all jobs were done with no issues or problems!

Well guess what? That's right, with that one sentence he got himself fired too!

I am so sick of giving these people chances and just having them try to make a mug outta me.

Done the math today, by getting rid of them I save over £4K per year in running costs alone for second vehicle, fuel insurances etc etc.. and that doesn't even include the £20K per year on their wages.

Decided I have now had enough of the charity and will simply be rolling solo for a very long time, we were expanding nicely but like they say..............

If you want a job doing right, do it yourself! F^&* expansion, I can make more money with no staff and also without the aggravation and stress of being responsible for someone elses shot comings.

Happy easter....

....you're fired! lol

The second bloke was a dumbass, who the fk tells their boss that they couldnt be bothered? Kids these days seem to have lost the ability to bull:turd:

But the first one, are you sure he wasnt just having a bit of banter?

Bloody hell nice start green to the bank hol

Trouble with some lads I've had it recently with one found out his bird is pregnant, tells mere wants all the hours he can get so I say no probs if we're worked up them do bit canvassing and door knocking etc

2 days later I have to finish early to go to parents evening and he says carnt be arsed to go and then moans today about working bank hol

Sometimes when you try to do some when a favour its thrown back in your face il but I'm like you **** me off enough and no warnings there gone

But the first one, are you sure he wasnt just having a bit of banter?
Nah, I known him long enough to know when it's banter or bitching. This was bitching.

Probs both of them join up and nick all the work off Green now :sweating:
This might sound like big headed bull s4it Tuffers but they couldn't take my custies if they tried, I really do have such a strong round and personal rapport with my customers that you pretty much have to wait till I'm dead to get my custies away from me.

What can I say? I'm just a likeable mother f&*^er!! /emoticons/tongue.png

thats ruff green. i likely wouldnt have sacked the lad who skipped those windows ,just a verbal warning . cos whose gonna do the work come tuesday ?.

i keep my workers in sight at all times-4 of us workin from one van works for me , no doubt theyd start skippin stuff if i didnt.

I'll do it myself Boars, at the end of the day it's not my first rodeo as the Yanks say, I built it up so one lad is going full time, the other part time and I potter around doing odd bits getting more customers.

The one skipping jobs was on a contract and had had verbal warnings for language twice on customers properties, and a written one for smoking on a custies property, apologized (sincerely, at least I thought) so he knew full well I wouldn't put up with much more *****.

Part timer was on a zero hours agreement as I didn't want to be in a position of having to find him work so unfortunately for him there is just not enough hours right now, or next week, or the week after, come to think of it........you see the point.

No unfair dismissal as I have been down that road 3 years ago Smurf with a lazy bas&^%d that just pushed and pushed without actually doing anything really wrong just so he could try to sue for unfair dismissal, at the tribunal I ended up having to pay him three months wages so now I have a lawyer I use to do my contracts and ensure I can get rid of crew should the need arise.

Does not mean I am looking forward to doing 34 jobs on my jack on Monday but what the hell, wont be the first time.

I admire you guys who employ. I have,..no I had a dream of a small fleet of vans and guys doing the work whilst I priced up work, got contracts etc.

Now I just want to do my own thing, not worry about staff not doing the work, calling in sick, gobbing off to customers etc etc.

If you can do it great, but I have decided that I am a lone wolf.

this is a self preservation society

if ya dont look after your custys

they wont be your custys anymore me thinks

I've said it before, but I reckon Boars got it right. Work alongside them and you can make sure they don't slip into lazy habits. Anything bad can be stamped on early, and bad behaviour can be sorted before any customer spots it.

best to employ humble types, lads who dont rock boat. i can sense a lairy type in the first 2 weeks. no matter how well they clean windows i let them go at that point

If iv ever needed extra help in thae past even when I used to work as a PA (no I didn't wear a skirt) I used to ask my bestate to help out or my dad other than that I'm a good motivator of people so normally work well with people but as green and boars said sometimes you have to cut the wheat from the chavs ;-)

bad news green, I do find it hard to get gd lads who will graft

I have gd lad at moment gd grfter, but mind went through some doylums

we all work hard to have our round and green ok it was harsh giving that little **** the red card, but your looking after your

round, so you was right getting rid off that iddle lad

I've tried working with others, one lost me my biggest house, one (someone I know with his own round) thought it was completely acceptable and normal to urinate in customers drains and one was great but already has a busy workload. Unless I take on loads more I think I will go it alone.

I don't think it's acceptable to urinate in customers drains but I must admit it's something Ive done once!!maybe twice?well ok a few times /emoticons/smile.png

If you pay more, do you get a better calibre of person working for you?

Just wondering for future reference innit.
