How do you all deal with the 'dreaded leaded'?

I'd always race to clean the back of the house and leave someone else to do them but now I'm on my own I have no choice.

I'm not taking anymore on unless they pay time and half.

I only do trad at the minute.

WFP works if it's not old lead that runs down the windows and I never liked using it on domestic anyway.

The custies like the "proper" way better. They want to see us working for our money and don't like it when you "leave the windows all wet ".

I don't have time for the "you left my windows wet" brigade as there is plenty of profitable work out there to be had.

It's money for nothing and it's there for the taking.

I will invest in a water sytem as my little round grows.

Yeah damp cloth, dry cloth normally but I hate doing them.

Why would you even want leaded Windows anyway? That look horrible.

The lead peels off on the old ones and you have to try and stick it back down but it's all bent out of shape and looks a %÷=× .

I might just not take them on and drop the ones I have. They really upset my day.

Yep that stuck on rubbish can be a pain in the **** for sure. The real old proper leaded glass even more so as can be very delicate and a high risk.

i do a school thats massive its a private school and listed a 1ft by 3ft window is just over £500 to replace thats a leaded pannel. and as you clean them you can feel the pieces moving and the pannel bowing. the stick on imotation ones are a doddle to them. and the real ones try and pole them and the water pi33es through them.

Flash window spray. Spray it on. Clean with one cloth & buff with another (micro).

Takes me just as long as doing a normal window but I charge more as there lead. Easy to do.

I think I know the sort you mean Andy.

It's like loads of little panes joined together with lead.

You can't put enough pressure on to clean them right.

I don't get why they feel the need to put one strip across on some new builds. You end up having to scrim half of the window after you squeegee it.

i find the best way is mop then squeegee then buff with scrim. keep your mind on something else [such as hobbies, exs, dreaming of another life ] and all of a sudden you will be finished. i have plenty of leaded houses on my round,i never refuse , usually i charge a few quid extra

it was but they had to pay to play. thats the second time iv cleaned this.just to the left of me there is a nother set of windows higher and sat further back. This gaff is mansion sized and i do all the windows in side and out. I hate the insides because they are proper led windows they use tying wire on the metal bars and they rip the **** out of your hands. The school owner has his house in the grounds which is cut off from the rest of the school which i clean inside and out aswell but thats moden has a carp lake in his back garden must be 100yd by 200yrd

If it pays very well then is worth doing I suppose if not then I would leave it to someone else myself.

How did you get on with motion sickness as those little pickers tend to sway alot?
