scammer working canvasser watch out

WCF

Help Support WCF:

I'm not naming names but it sounds like a chap in the new members area.

Don't quote me on it as I could be getting all daily mail on an innocent party

Peter,

I have not seen this advert, it has been reported before I viewed. I will contact you directly as I may need this for defamation reasons, seems someone is telling un truths for obvious reasons.

No need to highlight it any further here, so will contact you directly if possible.

Thank you Peter

Its very frustrating on one hand there is some one on Gum tree saying they have been scammed By happy canvassing . Then you have happy canvassing saying there being set up by someone. It doesn't make it any easier when both the add and complaint have vanished from Gum tree. The happy canvassing add is now on EBay Must say if it is a scam its agood one as all the paper work is very good and after speaking to them they know a lot about window cleaning canvassing.

I had a chat with the happy canvassing bloke about a week ago on the phone. The alarm bells started ringing when he said that he wants 30% deposit (that is fair enough) AND he will give me a list of newly canvassed customers at the end of the week and then he will collect the rest of the money. When I suggested that Id rather meet every night and pay for customers found that day and clean them the following day and meet in the evening again and so on and so forth he said he doesnt work like that. Well you will not be working for me at all then sunshine. Since then I have found a local lass who is happy to work EXACTLY the way i want it and is very good at canvassing so happy days. I am not saying that happy canvasing is a scam but looks like it well might be

Not taking sides here, but if a customer told me how I was going to do my job, then I wouldnt play either. What you suggested seems like it would add a lot of inconvenience to a canvasser, just for your piece of mind. Like I said, not picking sides, just playing devils advocate.

I quite enjoy playing around with scammers. Had one chap who was claiming to be a mate of mine saying he was stuck in Spain, been robbed, zilch £ , could only email....blah blah blah. I said sure.....send bank details, he did, I pretended to wire 1K over, had a bit of banter and then never heard anything more........Actually, come to think of it I haven't heard from him for quite awhile........oh well, at least he will be fluent in Spanish.......or dead........

@TolishAPurd i see your point but if a bloke that is based in Bristol (which HappyCanvassing claims to be) comes to North Yorkshire for a week then obviously that person is gonna stay here for that week. Why would it be so inconvenient to meet every night for 10 minutes somewhere where they stay and hand over customers and cash ? As far as I am concerned there should be no problem. The problem for me starts when on a Sunday I meet a bloke for the first time that claims he has been working for me for the whole of the week and hands me a list of new customers worth 2k or whatever and demands that sort of money from me and then goes back home to wherever they may live. How do I know if all of the customers on the list are genuine? The point is I dont and the canvasser and my 2k is gone. So yes if I am paying somebody some good dosh I want them to work to my specification because essentially I employ them. If they are not willing to do what I ask they can go elsewhere. Simples..

I see what you mean, that makes sense. I didnt realise the distances involved/hotel stay etc. When you put it like that I would say your request was very reasonable.
