Hi guys just wondering what small van you would recommend. Atm I'm driving a a 15 year old scudo. Great little van but mot is coming up and I'm a bit worried I'm just looking for something a little more modern looking and reliable I don't really want to spend over £4000 any recommendations? I was thinking either a kangoo, berlingo or a fiorino/ bipper don't know how the bipper would carry the weight though cheers tony

depends on the weight you carry really, i have a berlingo first with 750 payload. i got it brand new, had it 3.5 yrs & its now worth £ 3500 , its still a great van though so you should get summat pretty good if you spend all 4k

I only carry 300 litres of water and 2 ladders. What engine did you go for on the berlingo they are nice looking vans I feel like a bit of a pikey when I turn up to a customers house atm I love the van it's never let me down just looks like a shed

Stay clear of the kangoo dci engine same fitted in Clio they can be unreliable and have fuel pump issues!little underpowered same as the bipper will struggle with any kind of weight!berlingo partner dispatch the way and try for the 2.0 hdi rather than 1.6

I've got a Citreon nemo same shape as the bipper and it's got 650kg payload which is great for the size. great little van more space than you would expect. I love it got the top spec so fully loaded. I had a Berlingo before that.

Yeah it I like the look of the nemos I work alone so I thought that size would be ideal for me looks like the new shape berlingos are out of my price range for a 2 litre one I found a clean nemo with about 70 thousand miles on it close to me for 3500 how many miles has yours done any reliability issues?

I bought mine used on 70 thousand aswel and now done a little over 80 I've had no problems whatsoever it's a 1.4 hdi obviously top up all the fluids when needed and keep it fully serviced. It looks really nice really good on diesel aswel.

my berlingo is only 1600 but it has a payload of 750 kg i reackon with me & my son a 350 ltr tank & poles & bits & peices a ladder on the roof & 2 dogs we're not far off that lol but it still flies along no problem

I have a 1.9 berlingo 2007, 88k on the clock, had Berlinda since september, top van! 400ltr tank of pure, 2 ladders, and 25ltr drum of tap for me bucket. Pulls like a train! wouldnt go much lower in engine size though, as you might struggle up steep hills a bit.

Found a nice little van. Just wondering does the colour look a little bit ***. My girlfriend said it looks nice and it's just a van so why worry. It's fairly cheap with low miles I'm just worried about the colour lol

Looks good tony. Nice colour. I've got an old van, ( autocorrect tried to correct to can /emoticons/smile.png ), wondering, if it's just image but you have no customer issues to confirm that, why not keep the old one if the works don't cost too much for now?

I'd like a Defender but could never justify the cost in a city...

Hello yeah it's just an image thing I guess, I've always worked for some one else but now I'm trying to build my own round up I thought it might help having something a bit nicer.sign written up. I can't complain about the van I've got atm as it's been faultless. But it was an ex builders van so body work is a bit of a nightmare dents and rust everywhere. Maybe I shouldn't worry about it but I just thought might help me gain a bit more work

Only probs there is where do you put a guttervvac, hose etc and other stuff. If it's just for windows it looks very smart

My wife says there's no point in sign writing my van as its too old etc but it's a clean example of a 14 year old with low miles so I'm hoping for a few years out of it. The heater matrix failed recently though so no heat :-/

I am getting a new shape doblo tomorrow they are not big vans but have a decent payload of 750kgs 6 feet payload lenght so planning to stick a 400-500l upright there and still quite a bit of space left for other bits and bobs. If it is only for windows it will suffice if you have pressure washer gutter vac or other equipment then you will need something bigger. I also think the previous doblo thay you refer to had a bit.smaller payload and 5.5 feet payload lenght.

iv had 3 peugeot partner1.9 in 7 yrs and love these vans, easy to fix ,very comfy seats which is very important as window cleaners we are in a van a lot. . in the next month or so im having a go in a brand spanker new partner 1.6 crewvan, my local main dealer keeps tempting me calling me with a variety of offers/deals . they only make a 1.6 nowadays crewvan 5 seater /6 seater is by special order only hey i want the 6 seater - i really hope its not a gutless wonder. My bro drives a Volvo coupe car with exact same engine 1.6 and he likes it which bodes well

dealer has assumed im driving around now in a relatively new crewvan[was impressed that i bought it for cash] but reality is its a 12yr old warhorse sh/tterr, you cant buy sh/t on credit terms !

im wondering if his generous trade in offer will still stand once he sees it

He will probably say he don't want it as a px to be frank but might offer you 50 to get shot of it. Or wangle some figures in the new van deal making out you are getting alot for the px but your are not in real money terms as will be paying more for the new van instead.
