And if quoting to also to clear guttering always best have a look in them too either by ladder or use a camera on a pole

Then do a silly walk I'm betting /emoticons/biggrin.png

Surveyor’s metre pace and all that is what I call a silly walk @Tuffers and I tell my customers that just before I start to pace it out.

Google maps is another handy way to get a rough idea of the size of a property especially when trying to work out linear metres on large buildings.

Nope that is not what I do at all as there are so many contributing factors that can affect the price of a job. One being its dangerous work for a start using ladders at roofline height and bloody hard graft even using a wfp from the ground or using a guttervac clearing gutters. For instance if you say you earn on average 20 squid an hour doing windows then you would work out the price on that basis?...**** that /emoticons/biggrin.png

Its something I keep getting wrong regarding estimate how long its going to take :-( did one complete clean today F&G, Con and roof, and all windows and doors, totally under estimated how long it would take and under quoted :-( have to go back tonight and finish con, then do the front tomorrow, total loss leader :-( hay ho lesson learnt.
Just thought Id give a quick update on this clean and just to confirm that there are some really great customers out there if your lucky enough to find um ;-) so I finally finished this property, and the customer was over the moon with the finished result so much so that with out me saying a word they gave me an extra £25 for my work :thumbs:I think it just goes to show that if you stay true and do the best job you can, some people will recognize a job well done and be happy to reward your efforts.

well done

Be warned! My left shoulder is playing up because of soffits, facias, awkward con roofs and cars in the way, I'm not doing any more awkward work, it's hard and the return is not worth it just gonna do more windows.
