Had to give a price yesterday. Just thought of a number and added a bit more on.

Was gonna attack it with a cane broom, a pressure washer will be too much maybe?

Any tips?

I did one today which took less than on hour and was bigger than that one.

brushed off, wet down, applied hypo, let dwell, rinsed off with a garden hose pipe...job done

I cleaned decking and section of barrier recently with pressure washer karcher k4 with lance, decking not rotten, took me ages,9-3pm solid, didnt stop for a break, had charged £100, first decking job, was fine job for a change from windows.

So long as the wood is sound then a pressure washer is fine. Just use a medium fan nozzle, and test it on an inconspicuous area. Definitely do not use a turbo nozzle as this will tear up the wood.

Cheers chaps.

The timber is rotten in places, although it's only 5 years old? Gonna get underneath and do some cowboy carpentry, if I get the job.

How does the hypochlorite affect it? What ratio are you using?

It's about 30sqm and all the grooves are filled with shite.

If the wood is dodgy then best not use hypo as could rot it out even quicker.

The idea of using hypo is to kill the algae growth so once clean the wood can be treated/stained.

Get them to buy whatever they want to put on it and just charge what you want for the job.

I didnt stain the decking, the lady is doing it herself, so that was fine, as I dont really like painting, but if the price is right then I dont mind, just stick the stain through the chemical feed in the pressure washer take 3 mins:whistle: two coats 7 mins, 1 min to dry in between, even quicker than the Smurf:rolleyes:. This comment is unhelpful I know, sorry:oops:.

You know if you are damaging the wood with a pressure washer as the wood will go fury and the bits will be blasted everywhere too.

My mate frank went a bit mental on one trying to remove all the old stain. Oops! /emoticons/biggrin.png
