iv not seen one! this is high season for window cleaning but theres a real no show of new lads this year in my area.

and a lot of others who started a couple of yrs ago seem to have given up- i usually think that if i dont see a windie in over a year theres a good chance hes quit

I think they've all started up in my area....a couple of posh vans have appeared and a whole load of cars with ladders strapped on...one guy has a tiny little Suzuki with a 15 rung double on the roof, looks like a javelin sticking out the front.

suzuki motorbike or car?

Pulled up in sainsburys car park yesterday as it's the best place to park to clean some shops I have on Fridays only to see another 5 different window cleaners all parked up in a row the comical thing being a friend of mine was trading a furniture store downstairs and another group were wfping the upstairs a parent it 2as cheaper to get 2 firms to clean them as it was to get 1 to do all lol.

I tend not to get out of bed let alone out of the house much so I would not know /emoticons/biggrin.png

Even this forum alone feels like it is getting less newbies then before. I think SPC hit the nail on the head with the construction industry picking up. Lots of people are back to working for others. This might be a cheap trade to get into, but its tough in the early days. Very little reward and **** pay while you drive around picking up new customers from all four corners of the earth. Thats enough to make anyone give up especially when a nice easy offer of employment comes along in a trade that is lucrative from the outset.

You have only got to see the amount of good used stuff on the likes of fleebay to see ppl don't tend to stick at it.

If you ain't determined enough to make it work then it won't work

Seems not so many of us have the drive to do it
