Liquidator not hitting the spot

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Mine went away today. Into the box to keep the wagtail company. It will resurf again probably in a couple of months but my modded unger works so much better.

I love my modded ones

I also like the liquidators

I use modded ones for the sizes i don't have in liquidator

Joking aside, that would be appreciated. I'm sure I'll learn something from you. window cleaning for me was pretty 1 dimensional until a couple of years ago when I stumbled across window cleaning vids on you tube and realised there's a wider world of window cleaning. So yeah cheers Daveyboy

Ah cheepncheerful you meant frank right? /emoticons/wink.png

I ordered a ninja set the other day which arrived this morning, a 10" squeegee and 10" applicator and boab - the boab being useless as the squeegee barely even fits in it properly, the angle of the handle is 40' so it doesn't fit properly in the slot. Whats the point of designing a set which doesn't go together!? I can see why it would nick blades, because the squeegee doesn't sit square in it. However the squeegee is soooo much better than the basic diy 14" squeegee I've been useless with. I can fan with it reasonably well now. The only thing is I get a run off at the edges at the bottom of the glass, but I am putting that down to using too much water on the glass?

Try turning the handle the other way round, they have a design fault

I have been doing this for 26 years now and have always played around with different ideas and then discovered wagga and Bob (polz) on utube and it just encouraged me to mod stuff even more

I was aleady cutting angles on my channels when i found Bobs vids and then dogeared mine like his and perfect

Liquidator imo is ideal as it solves the problem of new guys and people not into modding or not having the skills to mod their tools

Cheers Kev, do you mean turn it so that the handle is angled away from your belt rather than towards it? If so I did try it that way and it's a bit better, but the slots for the handle are too slim. Going to have to get the dremel out to widen it I think.

26 years hey, I'm a newbie in comparison. I've had many jobs but they haven't fit right with me. This job on the other hand I love! It's the happiest I've been.

I agree with you about the liquidator being good for those who don't want to or don't have the skills to mod their tools. I'm not great myself at doing it, that's why I'm disappointed I'm having grief with the liquidator.

Yeah mate that's the way it is done with an unger classic boab i have always done it that way if you do it the other way the handle gets in the way of getting the applicator out

Hit and miss, spot on, I've noticed this inconsistency with it...Baffling!
Yeah some days works a treat, next day it's frustrating and leaves trails everywhere.

after week 5 of using a liquidator as my daily hack i can observe,it Does take a fraction more effort to use than a regular channel. you have to watch it as you pull across the top line or it can snag on the top edge rubber

upside is theres almost no detailing.

What's your action like with it, do you go side to side action whilst fanning or is it more of an arched action. When i say side to side I don't just mean straight pulls

Not a bad day using it today, i think it's getting that balance between quick and slow strokes. Tomorrow will be **** again.

from the top corner i come straight across to oppo corner -[clean top edge] , then dive down and up to start fanning with arched strokes . i just find that on my initial move the tips can catch on the rubber seal .
