Transfer Pump...

MrBump

Takes me half an hour to fill my tank dragging 25l barrels to and from the van. I need to get a transfer pump asap. Can anybody recommend a good one? Cheaper the better, preferably under fifty quid, not bothered about speed, aslong as it can do 200l in 5ish mins. Also is there a trigger gun I can get for it with a wide enough nozzle opening?

yep I too want one mr bump so will watch this post with interest.

I said to my 75 year old dad...oh these barrels are heavy...so he picks one up with one hand and says not so bad...

yeh I take after mummy.../emoticons/biggrin.png

That's a good price, how fast does it transfer though?

Slow your having a laugh wouldnt want it in my mouth when you switch it on.

20mins to transfer 1000ltrs is good going would be quicker if you had say a 2inch hose

Thanks Jake. Both are fast enough for me and about the same price. Like the look of the trigger on the pure freedom kit, so either way will be getting that

The place I've been buying my water fills 750l in about 5 minutes...

I use a submersible pump from gardiners. 90 lpm. Fills my 650l van tank very quickly. Think they about £85 or £90.

Cheers Keir. Thats a good one, but after adding on hose and handle its a bit too pricey for me. I've used gardiners for almost everything so far and my bank balance shows that! /emoticons/wink.png

I have a cheap pump from ebay, something like 30 quid. now atm i use 1/2 inch garden hose, also the only way i can park is like 20 metres from the ibc tank, so to fill up 800 litres it takes around 1.5 hours... i know pathetic

i've been thinking about getting layflat hose with fittings, would probably cost around 30-40 quid altogether, but i'm just worried that it won't make such a massive difference.

the pump is rated 7200L/hr, I could attach a 1.25 inch layflat hose, 20 metres for about £30, and brass geka fittings probs around £10

but would it be worth it???

The one I've got from ebay looks the same (different color)

I reckon it actually does 115L/min with a 1 1/4 hose not longer than 2-3 metres

but even if it does half of what is stated, that's 55L a minute still good if you ask me
