Liquidator not hitting the spot

I get the same problem also! It leaves a band of water across the top just under the frame. Not on every window mind, I guess it depends on what type of seals it has.

Top tip for the top of the window mate, once you have applicated the window use your sill cloth to detail the window at the top before cleaning it with your squeegee. Just a quick swipe from one side to the other it leaves an excellent finish at the top with the liquidator

Cheers. I've heard some window cleaners do this but not tried it myself, always open for trying new things so I'll give it a go, see if it helps

I've seen other people doing but didn't understand why. I done it by accident on a big job i do twice a year or what ever was removing spider sacks with the sill cloth and then squeegeed and realised it left a nice finish. I haven't tried with a standard squeegee

Try this wayJust filmed this to show how i do the top edge with the liquidator on thin seals

Seems to work better than starting in the corner for me

I've pretty much tried every way poss with varied results, including polz's vertical backhand pull up into the corner before pulling across the top. All these styles work, sometimes good sometimes not so good!

Ahh Spider sacks! We're at that time of year where throughout the day I watch little spiders slipping down the glass in a mess of soapy suds before I take them on a magical squeegee ride....poor little spiders

been using my new liquidator blade all day today..no probs ...well ...apart from the fact that it has a pulex handle and the prongs dont grip the rubber blade until I get my drill out ..

a bit annoying the rubber moving around but will soon sort it...

I tried to use it last week but my boab was way too small for it but daddy gave me one of the blue ones and that was great..

although it may not hang low enough for me at the mo I think boar mentioned that in a post he did..now wheres ma drill..../emoticons/biggrin.png

Cheapndave get an ettore handle (quick release type)

Need to take a clip off to slide channel in but is a perfect handle for it

Haha

I did our windows before heading out yesterday and thought it was a good job, woke up this morning with the sun rising and saw this. Ive tried all sorts of ways. I've done going up the left starting near top the going across to rh corner then down a bit then start going across again making passes. Also started in middle sliding to the right then down a bit then back up to middle to the left then going as normal. What's everybody's way of using soap with water? Do you put it in bucket with water, soap on applicater or on window using straight water from bucket.

I put it into the applicator sleeve...but often over soap as I have enough in from the night before..

I use my 18 inch blade a lot and quite often leave a line but if your quick you can catch it with a microfibre or scrim.

This is the main reason cheapie doesnt like people in...

as he can often be seen crouching up and down in front of a window to catch it from various angles to check for marks..

you have to bear in mind if you leave a mark like that....

the custy could just be staring at it every day for a month til your return...

and although peeps will say wfp is the answer...

sorry but that method can have its problems too...as in..

spotting spotting..

windies just have to have good eyes!

But to be fair...

cheapie does get this question a lot....

yesterday off the er...pretty ...cleaner....who stood very close to cheapie and said...what do you use in there ? and how do you get the windows so clean?

cheapie is always ready for that....and says.the soap is just fairy..and its because we always keep renewing our equipment, have you seen my new liquidator...?

pussy cat keeps purring about how she wants cheapie inside as she cant clean the big windows without leaving marks...

but cheapie hasnt the heart to tell her that he too would struggle in a smokers home... so he keeps doing a runner..

I add soap direct to applicator from bottle on my belt

Either just water in bucket and soap to applicator or when using wagtail I use a pre mixed bottle and squirt on the pad

The thing I've found using a microfibre cloth to clean a line left is that once the suns on it you can see all the fibres.

yes with you on that keefo...and then I try and reduce em by using less pressure but yep no cloth at all is the best way

I am thinking about going back to scrim but ..I seem to remember thats not brilliant either..

but whether the custy sees or not I dont know....

I am seriously thinking of getting a small backpack full of pure just for any dodgy bits...as in that sun...everything shows up./emoticons/biggrin.png

Do you think sometimes we see things customers don't. Obviously those lines are very visible that I've posted but I'm sure I've left some lines before and customers are happy.

sometimes you walk away quite happy and then by accident later you walk back and spot the line ...knocks your confidence..

yes I think we are more fussy than most custys as duncs would say rushing around and not knowing what day it is...

I try the z type clean with my big 18 inch but cant do it without leaving a little crossover line...but if you can knock it off before it dries its okay..

weather doesnt help mind you..

yes Ive never been told I have left a mark as I post on my website I would always come back and do a window again..

most custys text me to come for a reason..and I usually find a blob of bird muck ..ta birds for keeping me busy../emoticons/biggrin.png

My mate frank actually trad cleaned the side windows & patio door of a conservatory yesterday whilst the peeps were all sat in the garden watching him. Franks 10" wagulator made short work of the job.

Yep! Same thing happened to me once, cleaned our living room windows inside and out and later when the sun was setting, shock horror, lines all over the place! Then the worrying starts, have I left lines like this on customers windows? No complaints so far though.

Most of the time I put the soap in the bucket but I do sometimes apply it straight to the applicator if I want a bit more soap.

I get same effect with some of my own windows, I think it's very dirty or damaged seals perhaps, the seals are some of the worst I've seen.

When the light hits my lounge window, it's covered in marks... I think they are internal and only when the sun catches a certain way they are visible
