View attachment 4875 I'm so glad I do this job! Each time I do the internals of the offices I have, I always think 'how can anyone work in a place like this'

The gossip,

The wanna be David beckham lads in there 'dapper' suits,

The bitchy girls,

One of the lads said 'how much do you charge for this'

I said '£80' he said 'what??? For an hours work???'

I said 'yeah'

He said 'I'm in the wrong job'

I said 'that's what they all say...'

Now I'm by no means rich (yet) but oh boy do we have the best job in the world!! (Well sort of)

Office antics are horrible!

They all look miserable...

Imagine sitting here with the droning of targets and tasks...

I'll stick to me windows!

I've been there mate with the grief that comes with managing stock levels for the 2012 olympics..half office half organising warehouse staff to get the job done

That's what made me start back up on the glass for myself

I said it before but i will NEVER work for someone else again

I've done offices and got bored of them quick and I agree being outside, choosing your own hours and jobs etc is great, although I would take david beckhams job over this /emoticons/wink.png I don't know how big the office, or if it was outsides and insides but thats a good price, £80 for an hours work sounds awesome! /emoticons/biggrin.png

You've done really well Dave, building up a good round in the time I've been on here, and yeah, I've only worked in an office for a few months when I was younger, and I hated it, so boring, the day's felt so long, I was pernamntly tired - it was just horrid lol

Just insides,

I work along side a cleaning contractor in my area occasionally. so she rings me when the offices need cleaning Inside, some of them I do the outsides, like the spicer haart office I posted a month or so ago, she just needed a decent window cleaner, and a facilities manager form an office I clean told her about me - so she rang and asked if I could do bits and bobs as and when...

Worked out well!

Yeah it was an easy job, but because it's only 6 monthly, the price is higher, so I said £80, although I thought it would take longer than it did!

Word of mouth is definately the best way of getting work, 6 degrees of seperation and all that. Happy for you that it was quicker than you thought, mine always take longer lol. I even had a customer the other day say "your hourly rate isn't working out so good is it" lol, £20 for a house for the second time cleaning it just seems to take forever for some reason, takes an hour and a half. Did a job afterwards that had 3 or 4 times as many windows for £60 and it took an hour. You win some, you lose some eh.. But I always get all ocd about every job as you never know if they are going to pass your name on. Plus the cheaper job now wants me to do fsg, porch/sunroomy thing roof, the insides so not all bad.

Out of interest did you clean the frames and sills too in the office or just the glass?

As you go forward you'll get less and less bad prices etc...

To be fair I would normally quote £25-30 for this job but it still seems to take forever for some reason. Its a nice house but always infested with spiders and 3 storey so I have to add my extensions on to my slx22 to reach it which adds on another 10-15 mins putting that on and taking it off. Might put up the price 5/10 in jan as an "annual price increase" as the excuse, rather than just admitting i am **** at sales and buckle and go in cheap to get the work lol. But at the end of the day, at least its not in a drab, dreary, bitchy office!

i feel the same, i also find some people in the offices see me as a relief being there, someone acting naturally and not thinking about self apearance, and all that garbage.

we really are lucky

True, although I'm sure a lot of them are thinking 'I bet he's really poor and hates this job; I bet he's only paid about £6 an hour'

Me thinks in my head 'ah well let em think that, I'd rather be seen as poor than working in a place like this'
