55 but as proved on horizon...its all in the mind...

you can add a good ten years to your life by not allowing yourself to grow old..

as a prime example...if you need a wee in the middle of the night half asleep do you use the handrail up the stairs...

feck off cheapie aint falling for that ...use it or lose it.. I say...so did you need it when you were young...

if you could do it when you were young why cant you do it now ...grasshopper...

yeh thats an awkward one eclipse.

I just put a card in one tonight and do I put a fiver like the rest or six.

yes its awkward especially when custys chat to each other..

suppose the answer is...

to up the lower ones but...

YEP not easy to do../emoticons/biggrin.png

I've always built up my round with the intention of selling it on when I'm done with it for a nice tickle. But now I am dreading the day when I have to do that. It must be a nightmare starting a new round from scratch for a second time.

@cheapncheerful Its time to step it up mate, your attitude is the only thing that seems to hold you back. Change your image and start bringing in proper wages. Its good to be nice, and we are all suckers for the vulnerable folk. But you have to start looking after number one. You can be honest and kind and still run a proffitable business. The important thing is that it has to be fair for them and YOU. Do you remember many moons back I banned you from using the 50p? ...well now you are banned from using the fiver! If its worth £5 youcan ask for £10. If its worth £10 you can ask for £12. If its worth £15 then ask £16. Just stop using the £5- no house is worth a fiver. Buck your ideas up sunshine.

but dont forget...its bleak up north..

but then again ....£4,10 a pint I mean...it makes you think..

To get a van mount and carbon pole straight away.

Having used the trolley and old d.i.y harris recently in emergency i have to say what a a ballache.

No collecting. I only have the odd few thankfully but what a pain in the **** it is.

Not take on anyone where they have to be in for access. you think its fine at first and you ll put up with it but when youve 12 jobs in an area to do that day and the last 2 you cant do until later in the week because they arnt in on a tuesday is a real pain.

To grow canvassing balls. I havent got any and doubt i ever will. the biggest stumbling block thus far.

should have had a mini siren ,to use to draw attention when out working or canvassing . but im too shy

like that adamangler..

YES....ME LOVES NO FECKIN COLLECTING in fact....thats been the bestest thing ever about window cleaning...

of course...assuming the buggers pay you..

or of course...

smurf window cleaning service...the legend lives on...

really boar shy now thats a first...

Adam once you have canvassed a good amount of work you don't need to canvass anymore..leaflets and recommendations etc keep the work flowing in

Maybe worth paying someone to canvass for you

its too late now anyway cos my round is full but i believe you could fit a mini siren possibly a rape alarm to the top rung of your ladder , once youre up trigger it off . then when people come out to see what the row is you point over to a nearby car and say it must be the alarm. meanwhile "would you like your windows cleaned ma"am"

Its all good, im on the right track now mate, i have someone booked in for august for canvassing, if all goes as planned that should see me up to about 120 custies, ive managed to keep my average around £12 which im pleased with as i could have had a fair few more custies by going cheap but now im fairly busy with valeting and working part time so slowly getting there.

Alien doesn't drink the alkeelalol anymore......but he does like spending a few bob on a coffee which is why I was askin about your methods.

I like a drink now and then..not a lot..just enough to stop the screaming in my head

I started out on my own six months ago this week and the only regret ( but not a very big one ) I thought I would offer a Half Price clean on the customers 3rd clean, my reasoning for this was that if I could insensitive them to have at least 3 cleans then by the time the 3rd clean was due the customers would see the benefit of having a regular cleans and also give me the chance to work the old @Greener charm and build rapport with them /emoticons/wink.png.

I spent a few quid and fair amount of time, flyers, web site, Facebook page etc promoting the offer (offer ends 31/12/15).

It probable took me the first 3 months to realise that I didn't really need to offer any incentive, just work hard, price fair, be reliable, be polite and ALWAYS do what you say you will do.

But of course once I had the first 50-100 customers under my belt the word was out "HALF PRICE 3rd CLEAN", picking up lots of customers via word of mouth, so I now feel compelled to offer the half price clean to every new customer mainly because you never know if they might know one of my existing customers or possible seen one of my flyers ect, ect..

I've no doubt that the offer has helped me gain a "small" amount of customers but I do think that it really wasn't needed. I don't even mention it now until after they have agreed to join my schedule, then its along the lines of " thank you very much and as a way of showing my appreciation for you joining my round your 3rd clean will be Half Price" /emoticons/wink.png:thumbsup:/emoticons/smile.png

Now six months later I have just over 200 regular customers and to be honest I think the majority of them have forgotten about the offer by the time the 3rd clean comes round and its a nice surprise for them when I remind them.

So Like I said the only regret ( but not a very big one ) now Im really busy I cant help but think " Gosh if only i'd known I could be earning twice as much on this 3rd clean" LOL /emoticons/wink.png

well....would I be married with four kids...

hmmm is time travel possible...

just kidding my love...

if u think i need a berlingo size van u def need a transit sized van

from word go i had a van mount set up still using same 180 quid 30 ft fibre glass pole going n 5 years old lol

i dont think id change much as i started out on a short budget and worked it out

didnt run before i could breathe air

i learned trad in evenings before i even brought the van and all

i had logo and shirts and leaflets andf biz cards

my advice would be dont go mad buying this and this as it will come build it up and maintain it dont borrow to buy this pole and this powerwasher

get ur system sorted get windie customers then build other things up

DONT TRY TO GET UR FINGER WET IN EVERY PIE GOIN PICK 1 AND STICK TO IT AND BUILD IT UP

DONT BUY CHEAP PUMP == COW DUNG
