Is using a car a disadvantage?

WCF

Help Support WCF:

i went out into my shed erlier to search for my own cardboard signs that i used my 1st year . cant find them!

missus denies disposal!

i always remember before i set to as a windie i followed an old mondeo estate into my hometown and it had john window cleaner

phone o1394---------

on a strip of grey card wedged in the back tailgate window.

it was on curling card and handwritten badly with a black marker pen . iv never forgotten it !

cos in my mind he was his own boss ,so he was cool

altho iv never seen him since

Thing is, personally I would choose a professional looking van most times myself, so that's the route I went down, but we're all different...

If I saw a car with a hand written sign on cardboard, my immediate thought would be either 'gypsie' or 'dodgy bloke' lol!

I just wouldn't trust someone with a cardboard sign...

I did think this too^ but the over corporate look can get boring, with twenty pro vans to choose from, a hardworking honest down to earth type can seem appealing.

I do like your van and setup too though @Jake

Variety is good

Using a citigo at private and business and dont ever feel like it dont fit, think custys think cute little car, he must be a nice bloke /emoticons/tongue.png well i am. But the car help me along.

Also good space for trad and the odd bit of wfp

I have a little van with twin side loading doors  and a tailgate , can get through small gaps where normal vans can't , easy to park in small spaces  and can turn on a sixpence .....

and NO.....

I'm not saying what it is :zipit:, not having you-lot laughing at my van aswell as everyone else  ........vans have feeling too you know  /emoticons/biggrin.png.

suzuki carry ?

chrome exhaust tailpipe?

probably thats going too far . you dont want to be hated,
not at the start anyway.
Yeah I wouldn't have the guts to do that - 'glitter' is quite a good word for a potential company name though (without the gary part)

This on the other hand is something that would really stand out......even if you got a bit hot, and couldn't see what you were doing, bit slippy on the feet.......but apart from that its marketing genius!

Edit: ok now I'm thinking we all wear a superman costume & raise some awareness or £ for cause / charity. If it was multiple that could attract quite a bit of local press etc.

and the mrs might approve

I nearly got a Bedford rascal. Like the look of those mini vans and the 1.3 petrol could be good economy for light carrying in the city.

For trad only, I'd have started up with a 15 year old + estate.

Those rascals look like very practical vans, I always liked the look of them too. I always get the feeling they are going to tip over, its like they can defy gravity.

Everyone knows me as mr squeegee

At least they don't have to ask if i clean windows (although some still do doh)

At the moment l'm using my car, which isn't ideal, it's a 1 series bmw and looks stupid with ladders on top.

As for a company name, I've always thought streaks n smears was pretty cool.

Sounds like the centre pages of a tabloid @GarryW /emoticons/biggrin.png

Trade her in for a nice 20 year old ford estate

In a former life I did a bread delivery round, one of my fellow drivers drove a little rascal and got a little carried away along the quiet winding lnes of Somerset and managed to put it on its side! i did do a stint in it and was very mindful of taking it easy around bends.
