The soap doesn't look very thick on the window in the video, have you watered it down? Or do you use it straight, but then I'd of thought you would go through it pretty quickly?

I'm not a controversial person by nature, its just not me. I love my football, but just don't get involved in the banter of it all. I respect the fact that other people follow different teams, and expect that respect back. With that said, aren't we all getting just a little bit carried away with this? Of course I don't do this, but I reckon I could get a window looking just as clean as anyone with me using a bucket of dirty water that hasn't been changed all day long.

Anyone agree/disagree??

Its great to see what others use in their buckets thou! (y)

I used Fairy for 20 odd years, and still swear by its top quality for cleaning a bit of glass. However, through this forum, and out of interest, I have given the Ecover/Flash method a go, and have been on it for about 5 months now, and am very impressed. But vinegar..............weren't they using that with newspaper in the 40's??

I'm certain its all psychological you know...

...do you honestly think if you cleaned an identical window next to this one with Fairy, you'd noticed the shine difference?
It may be pshycological but i think it gives a better shine

The chemicals in flash etc are basically just a degreaser

Vinegar is still one of the best mild degreasers around and not bad for your skin like flash etc

I've been using white vinegar for cleaning round my house for years now, clears up smells from the washing machine seals nicely and good for the fridge

I used fairy for years until i got fed up with the film it leaves sometimes

People have used vinegar for years for a reason..it works

My wife always uses natural cleaning products, she's not into chemicals! Vinegar, lemon, bicarbonate of soda etc all get used round our house. Works a treat is cheaper and leaves the place smelling fresh

Now i am going trad/wfp hybrid i am gonna make a point of advertising as 100% eco friendly

Some people really dig that and could be a selling point

I wish more people were like that.

Unfortunately, most people seem to think that if it isn't some toxic poison that is known on record to cause a whole list of ailments coming out of a pink and yellow bottle, then it's just not good enough.

And they just smear this stuff all over every surface in the house. I mean having it outside might be one thing, but where you're actually making contact and generally just breathing it all in...

No rugby you got me wrongThat is my soap mix which i have some in a squirty bottle and add straight to applicator or wag scrubber and just water in bucket

You can add it to water like normal soap how i used to in my bucket but i find it better direct to applicator as i can control the consistency of the mix on the glass

It looks weird when you mix it as when shaken looks like a bottle of foam but when you squirt some out it is fine
I get it now Daveyboy1, it's very similar to what I do. I make up 5ltr bottles with additive and washing up liquid, wet and wring out the scrubber, but then spray the glass and wash (I used to squib it out of a squirty bottle but found it awkward), then I apply washing up liquid neat to the scrubber now and again.

What is your "additive"?

The thing with everyone nowadays disinfecting everything with this stuff that "kills all known germs etc" is that kids now have no immune system due to never being exposed to normal everyday bacteria and bugs that strengthen it

Especially so in these kids who play xbox all day and never go out

You know the anemic pasty looking ones

My sons mates are always ill and whining

When we were kids I'd be in my grandads garden all day digging (the whole garden was an allotment basically ) putting dirty hands in my mouth eating fruit and veg that weren't washed etc and never got ill and still rarely do

As grandad used to say "you got to eat a bucket of sh1t before it kills you"

Also said "you will never understand a woman as long as you have a hole in the end of your ****" but that's a different story for another day

By constantly cleaning we are actually lowering our kids defences to all the bugs and germs out there
