Booster Pump & RO System Help. PLEASE :)

Hi guys & gals.

Im in a hardwater(300ppm ish) area with rubbish water pressure and i need some assistance on choosing a Static Ro system. Ive been cleaning for 4 years for a local company but am wanting to step out on my own. Im not wanting to spend a fortune but do realise that it may be worth spending out on a decent setup now to save on buying something else later on.

The company I work for uses a Pure freedom 2400 gpd, its ace but outta my budget at the moment unfortunately,so, Im after some wisdom from you guys. Ill be working on my own & hoping to build round up to 5 days a week, perhaps 500litres usage a day. What would you guys recommend looking at?

I realise i need a booster pump so any of you guys that run them please could you sling your knowledge this way.

What would you go for a 4021 or a 4040 & why? Would a booster pump on a 4021 be an issue? was told that it would be better to go for 4040 if i was using a booster.

tell me if you have used it, can one hook up directly to it with hose and pole an just use it like a rodi cart?

as far as i know its just a static system . the company i work for bought it for the unit not so long ago, works a treat & produces good supply of water for a few guys each day.

Love to get it but 1k is more than i want/can spend on something at the mo.

Im not sure about using it directly to pole so wouldn't want to say yay or nay. As far as i know its a static system but i may just have my blinkers on.

Thanks for the heads up on the other system. Im was told by pure freedom guy that the 4040 booster system is the way to go for low pressure quantity then told by another company that the 4021 booster is the way to go for the same situation. Kinda confused to be honest. I like the idea of the purefreedom 950 with a booster but now don't know what the heck to think. Anybody with any advice?

I think you need to try to find out what your water pressure is and what volume (litres per minute) you get from your tap.

Our 4040 manages to work OK at 50 psi tap water pressure and 13 lpm of flow using an HF5 low pressure membrane.

A 4021 is half the size of the 4040 but the components don't cost much less. If you need to upgrade a 4021 to a 4040 spec then you just need to add another membrane and housing. But the cost further down the line to replace 2 x 4021 membranes is much more expensive that a single 4040 membrane.

Thanks for the link & info on future upgrades. The water pressure is about 20psi(on the top of a hill doesn't help). ill check the lpm asap. cheers again.
