Noticed a few see this job as a hobbie....

Dont see why it is sad to be 100% into somehing?I like windowcleaning a lot its more for me than just a job and i dont feel sad, why should i?

I dont give a :turd: what others think about me and my passions because its my life i do with it what i want.
Having your own opinion can be dangerous lol.

I love my job, and whilst you are right @boarcity i still think the majority are in it for the money and to make there way, I get the feeling that over time some people start to then get attached to the job and it starts to become there hobbie, @Damo - your one of them, it's a hobbie for you as well as a job, come on admit it /emoticons/wink.png;)/emoticons/wink.png
But don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing, enjoying your job is a rarity and I think it's great that people see it as a hobbie and they enjoy it so much, but sometimes it can seem a tad sad - well that's the wife says!

I'm one of them, I see it as a hobbie, and enjoy the forum side of it and the videos etc, but for some I feel it literally is all they have...
Yup - agree with this. I never thought that I would enjoy window cleaning so much.

Was 'just' a job to start with to make a bit of cash and soon became an addic.........hobby /emoticons/smile.png

No-one outside of window cleaning cares to hear about it all, so we all have to come on here as only us saddo's will listen... And dare I say it get excited about each others new wfp gizmo or newly fitted out van /emoticons/wink.png

Infact this forum actually make the whole job better, its inspiring seeing how everyone else is getting on... And also makes you feel more upbeat when everyone has undercharged/had a **** day occasionally too... We would all be single with no friends if we had no other outlet for our window cleaning stories/questions etc.... Long live wcf /emoticons/biggrin.png lol

There's always one that gets upset :laugh:

Chill Jacob, it's just an observation, but it is still sad

I also love my job, and enjoy the videos and forum as already said a few comments back - nothing like causing a stir on wet Sunday ay'

I like cleaning windows and take great pride in my business and name but sorry lads to me it's a job I do to give me the life I like and children happy upbringing,I do love the challenge of windows and a super busy schedule so much so this is the first day off in 2 month

But if I won the lottery I'd be hanging up my squeegue straight away and enjoying life and more time home!

The window gear I'd hang on to tho to clean my massive mansion coz no other window cleaner is as good as me!!!!!:lipssealed:

No worries, I thought you took offence! /emoticons/smile.png

I love windowcleaning.....never get bored with it. Dont get me wrong, there are plenty of shite days to be had, particularly those where you book too much in and every single customer wants to tell you their life story and then it keeps raining. But overall, its not a bad job to have and if you have a personality that needs freedom and no bosses breathing down your neck then its ideal. And then, of course, there are all the lovely ladies to brighten up the day plus 6 music on my radio banging out good music.....lauren laverne always cheers me up in the morning.

I love it but still enjoy my interests outside of the job.....football, ale, gardening, milfs. It aint a bad life!

I found window cleaning during a short period of unemployment. Not many jobs around at the time and was getting me down. Visited me mum and her window cleaner was hard at work there, so out of desperation I asked if he needed anyone, luckily he did so that's how it started. I honestly didn't see myself doing it for long but I got the bug. I've never been happier in a job! /emoticons/smile.png

It is so important to have a good work/life balance and spend quality time with your family as much as poss.

I also bore my wife silly talking about squeegees and such, quite deliberately I might add. But she doesn't give me grief for being on here, her head is always stuck in Twitter anyway!

Oh and 6 music = Decent!

for saddo me its the only job I have ever had so too old for change...couldnt imagine in a million years having to be somewhere at a set time....and finishing in traffic....

and even though I have only really managed one day off friday...and it rained anyway...I am taking it easy for my er holidays...

yes I tried to have a sleep on saturday but kept getting woke up by people wanting windows cleaning....

so thats another full week then...and the week after is my monthlies so another full week....but then...I may get a couple of days off..but I never moan as you know..

No i buy it from a company under 2 miles away from me

4p a litre

Just fill up and tell him the reading on the meter

I'm happy to pay 4 quid for 100 litre and not have to watch barrels fill etc at home

After a few weeks off sick I got behind on my round....Normally it gives me a couple of days work per week but because of the backlog I worked every spare day for three weeks.... Now I've got no cleaning to do for another three weeks and I can't wait to get out again....To give me my fix I'm going to do my own house, my daughters house and a few at the Fire Station....I'm planning on taking on a colleague to assist me, a customer said I would find it difficult to recruit someone as meticulous as me....My wife thinks I'm obsessed, maybe it's because after thirty years of working for someone else, being told what to do by bosses often less able than myself, I'm totally in control of what I do and how I do it and that's a great feeling.

Sounds good Daveyboy. What have the results been like....any spotting?

No..100% 0ppm

It is a company who fills up a lot of the vans in Hertfordshire so needs to be spot on

especially this wagga

could you imagine some guy joining a forum on shoe shining or guttin fish haha

Must say, there aren't many other profession-based forums where the vast majority of people are made up to be what they are. It says a lot for the trade in my opinion.
